Why would eelders have a list of medications?
Someone on the forum sent me a copy of the infamous "allogeneic" blood card from around 2000. I really appreciate it and will keep it safe.
at the meeting last night, at the annoucments at end of meeting they said make sure u take your ped card.
i said to myself what is a ped card?

i am posting a second topic on this subject since the first one became overrun by snakes.. cofty posted a link to a published paper discussing this topic and referred to the information in it as "facts".
here is my summary of that paper along with comments on it.. one of the opening statements says that:.
two frequently debated aspects of hominin evolution are the development of upright bipedal stance and reduction in body hair.. so for those who believe this is a stupid topic, it is a subject of interest to many stupid people including the authors of the paper referred to by cofty.
at the moment i dont beleive in anything.
im pretty much an open book, but my critical mind is very alert to bullshit.
but anyway i decided to re-read the bible with a non jw filter.. i researched online first which is supposed to be the best translation out there.
I like to read books translated and presented individually including long introductions and footnotes. I especially like Robert Alter's translation of Genesis, The Song of Solomon by Ariel Bloch and The Book of Job by Raymond Scheindlin.
Robert Alter in particular points out all the words and phrases that are repeated in similar stories and themes that recur that may be missed in other translations.
Plus reading the book of Job as a book in its own right without canonical contextual baggage makes it much more interesting.
And non-religious renderings of the Song of Songs are much clearer about the erotic language used.

The first book I read was The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins. It convinced me. Then I read The Selfish Gene. I began to suspect that Dawkins has a particular slant on evolution that is not, universally accepted: the focus on gene selection to the exclusion of selection at other levels. Then I read Almost A Whale by Steve Jones and Why Evolution is True by Jeremy Coyne. I also read a few small booklets on evolution and human evolution produced by the British museum. These were very good and well illustrated. I tried to read The Ancestors Tale by Dawkins but didn't finish it. In fact I didn't finish a few of his other books. Meanwhile I read Evolution as a Religion by Mary Midgley and various books by Raymond Tallis and Thomas Nagel that argue there is something wrong with reductive Darwinism.
hi simon,.
i noticed that most financial sites like banks have an automatic log out after some time of inactivity.. could a similar thing work here perhaps?.
if someone has logged on, but not used the site for say 20 minutes, could they be logged out and have to reenter the passwords?.
I think it's a bad idea to link this site in any way with Facebook. It doesn't matter if it's only for logging in, even the suggestion of link to real identity will scare a huge number of JWs away.
gorby has had a personal paradigm shift lately.. from one point to an other i "feel" and "think" different about the jw subject.. - no more interest in doctrine.
- no more interest in things that happen 100 years ago into an religion.. - no more taking statements too serious.
it doesn't matter me at all what a generation doctrine change is all about, it doesn't matter me at all that brother elder said "blablabla boe!".
I find it harder and harder to take any of it seriously. It sneaks up on you. An upside is there is little temptation to argue with JWs when they say stupid stuff like, "gays getting married means the end must be near" or "did you hear the latest wonderful thing the GB said?" I'm just like yeah that's great, whatever.

It'd also be a bloody nuisance. I don't think I've logged out in years.
to save us all a lot of time and effort..... [some complex structure in living organisms described].
[i can't imagine how this could be the product of evolution].
[therefore god created it].
If you don't accept evolution you are either ignorant or ignorant. That is all.
Where is a worm I can insult?

Evolution at a deep level is neither true nor untrue it is just a way of looking at things.
evolution paints human ancestors covered with fur.
fur has several benefits as stated by britannica "the pelts of fur-bearing animals are called true furs when they consist of two elements: a dense undercoat, called ground hair, and longer hairs, extending beyond that layer, called guard hair.
the principal function of ground hair is to maintain the animal’s body temperature; that of guard hair is to protect the underlying fur and skin and to shed rain or snow.".
An escape goat is a mistaken form of the term scapegoat, which was made popular by Jade Goody. (Used ironically since your post castigated typos)
Much better than the original and to be preferred in my view.
It's also going to be the title of my autobiographical account of leaving JWs:
Escape Goat: How I Broke Out Of The JWs And Why They Blamed Me For It!
