Yes I got a tour of the building already. In addition to the chapel (is that the name?) there is a basketball court, a large kitchen, dining area, library, various classrooms and teaching rooms, a play room for kids, and at least three business style offices with desks and computers for the different office holders including president, bishop and I forget what else. Huge building, tiny congregation.

slimboyfat joins the Mormons!
by slimboyfat ini know that some people on the board have experience of being mormons, so i would be interested in your feedback.
at church this afternoon it was an uncanny experience.
in the past i've read a lot about mormons, so i thought i was prepared in general for what it would be like.

I've been found out!
by pale.emperor inwell, thats it folks.. my identity on here has been rumbled and reported to the elders.
someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.
i just feel sad for my daughter.

Whoever it is that pale.emperor is impersonating should go on the offensive. He should ask the elders who has been spreading this false information. Do they know who has been impersonating him online and what are they going to do about it?

Personally I don't think it's really pale.emperor posting at all. It's someone trying to get him into trouble. Who would be stupid enough to post the details of what the elders said to him in these circumstances? Only somebody who is trying to frame him that's who! The elders obviously need to turn their attention elsewhere to identify what's really going on here.

You sound not that bothered actually, so maybe not applicable in your case. But in general:
Just deny it. How can they prove it? If they say the details match you ask them to explain. If they go into detail tell them you are very shocked that someone seems to be impersonating you online. "What can you do to help in this situation?" What can they say?

I meant his first dumb dumb comment, but that's a good one too.
Funny enough the president mentioned a diet of worms.
Rebel I like to think I'm post Marxist so I agree with your materialist analysis.
I also doubt the existence of money, especially when I check my balance.
And I am resolutely worm enough.
Greetings comrade.

My son is not sure about what he has been taught about the common ancestor
by KateWild inthis week my son expressed he is agnostic as he is not sure what to believe about evolution and the common ancestor.. i thought any jw hang ups were gone.
i told him that what they teach in school is trustworthy and he can be rest assured that there is evidence to support that the common ancestor was the real link to the evolution of humans.. he has got critical thinking skills.
and responded with "for hundreds of years schools have been teaching things and have changed their thoughts".

Yes of course it is. It is as certain as the fact that the earth is not flat.
Exactly.
There are only interpretations.

Availability Crisis of Conscience.
by Ben131895 inmost of us are desperately waiting for the availability of a legal crisis of conscience.
deborah dykstra provided us with two updates.
on december 12, 2015 there was a clear statement about the copyright which stopped all illegal activity in spreading electronic versions & prints.. finally, she promised a new update by or before may 6.. so far no new update.

I wish they'd say how much they'd be willing to sell the copyright for and people could consider making them an offer.
They'd get some money, the book would be back in circulation. Everyone happy.

Witness My Fury you're such a pessimist. I'd like to think I know a lot less now than 12 years ago. One day I may know nothing at all!
Thanks to 2+2=5 for the best answer. Dumb dumb dumb, da dumb. It is catchy.
I really was hoping for more Mormon feedback though. Is my initiation typical? I thought there were more Mormons on here.

I like the poem.
And the message.
I don't know how you'd define a successful leaver, but they do say if you have got one big enough you can move the world from its axis.

The anti-wormism on this forum is utterly appalling.
