New June Awake with Misleading Statements about Evidence for god

the article (faith) is all about why you should have solid evidence based reasons for belief in god.

it's not good enough to believe in god just because you were raised to believe in god.. (from the article).

but god wants those who worship him to have genuine confidence in his existence and in his love.. then it goes on to tell us how we can get that genuine confidence that there is a god.

Proof is proof, not a desire to want something to be real.
I don't believe that the earth is a sphere, it is. I don't believe that there is gravity, it is.

That's certainly one way of looking at it!

Animals were created without needing Toilet Paper ... but not Man ... Why???

my dog and other pets do their "business" and run away and are happy.. man does not have that luxury.

any thoughts on why animals were created with the "poop and go" capacity while man has to go through more steps?

was this perhaps an additional issue that god added on when adam and eve sinned (such as eve having significant more birth pains)?

I think if humans are healthy, eat the right diet, and crouch, then they don't need it either. I'm not any of those three, but in theory I think that's how it works.

Memphis that's so cool you got a class with Tallis. He seems a very thoughtful guy. I knew he was against post structuralism too but you can't win them all. I think he very much has got "a point with the brain" and he's not the only one pointing out that brain reductionism is nonsense when you really examine it.

I've seen old books in Russian (maybe Ukrainian too) on eBay if that is any use. The Harp of God for example, which promoted the 1925 date. Worth keeping an eye on.

Raymond Tallis's book on the subject "Aping Mankind" linked above was published by academic publisher Routledge and peer reviewed and is less than 2 years old.

I saw him give a talk on the subject last year. His arguments are not only based on the limits of technology, although he does discuss those. As a philosopher of the mind he argues that mapping human attributes in the brain is not simply difficult but totally misconceived. Like analysing the material composition of a board game to locate the "fun".

i know ttatt for a few years now (first thread was over 14 years ago) but i am still in.

right now i have this hunger for peoples experiences who left the truth.

especially those higher ups have a lot of good stories to tell.

Apocalypse Delayed is old but worth reading if you haven't. Don't know any recent books about life at bethel apart from Brock Talon you mention. There is also Barbara Anderson's website where you get her recollections in articles like these.
