  i just got back from the circuit assembly.

  some interesting perspectives:.

  9 people out of 2500 got baptised.

  3. Young people were told to "Stay in their cage." I kid you not. 2499 out of 2500 people appauded.

  Spook - what exactly did they mean by stay in their cages? Did the speaker elaborate at all?

  Problem remembering my childhood

  i have a big problem remembering my childhood.

  it gets quite frustrating sometimes.

  every so often i get a flashback to a memory but only by triggers, usually smell.

  mtbatoon: I would remember nothing if it weren't for my diarys. Definitely nothing b4 5 but is that so unusual. I know people who seem to remeber stuff earlier. And I only remeber very poignant events - when i got punished mainly but some happy memories with my dad when I was 7 or 8 which I treasure, but don't run repeat on too much because its too much. I miss my mum and dad like a permanent ache - a rock in my stomach. The missing thing everytime i wake up. It gets lighter but doesnt disappear.

  I'd hate this to sound crass, but when 9/11 happened - that was lots of people losing one or two family members. When I got disfelllowshipped it was like losing everyone in one huge crash/personal nuclear bomb, and everyone I seemed to know, mum, dad, grandparents, sisters included did not see me privately for little social things as some here seem to have. Mine cut me off 100%. For me Armageddon already happened.

  Life after was painful but it is better to lok forward and try to reconcile the past in whatever way in can personally work for you. I'm still trying.

  Hi mbtoon,

  I get what you are saying, and for a while i wondered if maybe i had some abuse or something. It depends on ho cloudy your memories ae. I haven't read your previous posts so I don't know your history, but I have found that by asking various non cult/jw raised kids that my lack of complete memory is not unusual so you shouldn't necessarlily suspect anything sinister by it.

  I also have memory aids in that I kept diaries from the age of 7 so that helps - i think I would have fogotten a lot without them.My diary was my best friend growing up and in some ways still is. However I am not a therapist nor have been in therapy - not really an optionin the UK unless you have money to burn.

  Sorry if this isn't helpful, but wanted you to know how someone who was raised in the UK with a very VERY strict JW, not elder dominated family, felt.

  Do your dreams affect your life....

  alternatively how directly do your day to day activities insert themselves into your dreams.

  the reason i ask is because i had a dream last night which i think might actually be life changing.

  Wow Wednesday I certainly did not expect to move anybody with this post, but I was personally very moved. The dream really was incredible to wake up from. I never woke up so happy, like I had been unlocked. It may sound dumb but I did smile at myslef in the mirror earlier and thought that I just seemed, different, nicer, calmer and just felt more settled!

  What is your experience re dreams or children? Either is relevant and I welcome hi jacking of my thread for humourous and positive thought which i think are mutually inclusive.

  Thank you Wednesday. I will be keeping this in my diary, because you have made this memorable for me although I would love to hear more from the Cayman Islands.

  Another "ghostly" experience last night!

  ok, if any of you have read the other thread about ghosts, you will remember that i dont care too much for them!

  just a few minutes ago my daugter told me she had a weird one last night here in the house, where i have never had a problem.

  she was in the bathroom brushing her teeth, and "one "of the holders on the counter that are all made of heavy glass, started shaking back and forth like crazy.

  Steveyc - are you ex pat? The Today program is still as excellent as ever and has my cackling every time John Humphries and McNaughtie (pronounced McKnockerty) are on.

  Am a little worried now though because I realise smurfs are equivalent to demon enterprise and they just had smurfs on the Comic Relief version of vicar of dibley! Remind me how i get rid of smurfette demons!

  I hope the bedwetting doesnt recurr for you gumby with your first dream!

  But I would still be quite keen to hear about other people's favourite/worst dreams/mares or dreams that they had like Joseph that influenced or affected real life decisions. Other wise maybe I am just a weirdo!

  if there any single factor that i would rate as the highest priority in raising a child, it is this:.

  teach them to be caring, loving adults who care about other people.. we've already noted, ad nauseum, how witnesses are largely impelled by motives other than love in their "ministry".

  "pioneer stroll" and fantasies about who's-house-you-want-after-armageddon, there is a further problem in raising witness kids.

  Gill - thanks so much for that advice. I actually started taking this one called Multibionta or similar three weeks ago along with a probiotic yoghurt and it has worked wonders. Is it safe to take more than one a day though? There is still room for improvement though. But the number of nights I have to sleep in the spare room owing to "windiness" and cramps have reduced which is excellent!

  Sorry Metatron for further girlie chatting about health probs! (I do miss that aspect of the JWs - there were so many semi-hypochondriacs as well as genuinely ill people and I used to love "listening in" to the hushed coversations my mother would have with other sisters about various ailments -it was my personal highlight of the Tuesday night bookstudy!)

  Something ghostly happened in our house yesterday. All our radio's are set to Radio 4 (please do not groan you brits on the board!). Well yesterday morning my b/f's alarm went off and the channel had been changed to BBC London and he thought I had done it. I went down to the kitchen and the kicthen radio station had been changed too! No one else had been in the house - neither of us had done it. Who's reaction was the most rational - the ex JW with the overactive imagination (me)? or the super logical rational scientific never religiously infected Mr Crumpet?

  Me! He immediately panicked that someone could have gotten in the house - until I pointed out it was just unlikely that someone would break in - leave no evidence of doing so and just change the radio stations.

  So who has an explanation? Do I call in the Psychic Camera Crew in from Most Haunted? or is there a scientific explanation?
