by snarf indoes anyone know what the governing body members make a month?
do they make more money than the average bethelite because of greater responsibility, or do they just get the benefits of first class travel when they go to different areas of the world?

the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".

This is odd. I was gossiped about and I'm not even a JW. This is what happened. I was at my son's wedding reception ( who is a JW ), standing at a counter and some guy strolls up to me and says, " So, you're the one. " Of course not having any idea what this short, fat, bald man was talking about I said, " Yeah, that's right. I'm the one ." And he walked on.
I started thinking about what he said. Maybe he ,and his crowd on the other side of the room, thought me to be a demon or something . . . .maybe they think I'm the one that they have nightmares about . . .maybe they know in their heart of hearts that I'm the one that will one day make them feel the pain that they have inflicted on thousands of people around the world as they destroyed one family after another in the name of the great Watchtower Society of Brooklyn, New York
Am I the ONE ?

I think it all depends on how much hurt one has experienced from the GB, COs and elders. I only have to reflect to once again experince the absolute control over my wife's ( and small chidren's ) total submersion into a family destroying cult.
My friends say, " Don't think about it "
Yeah, okay, I tell them. "I won't think about it."

JW's stand for giving beatings, pinchings, slappings etc. to their children who may only be 2-3 years old. What kind of perverted mind condons that type of behavior? The mind of the Watchtower Society and it's followers, that's who.

in wisconsin it is 5.5%.. in 2004, 28% of americans had no health insurance.
presently, 40% have no health insurance.. .

Please don't read something in my post that is not there. I'm not advocating the French way by any means. What I DO mean is that there are many " free riders" in the U.S. and that they create a downdraft on the overall economy, thus establishing an environment where those of us that work for a living do not receive the benefits that we should or we have to pay extraordinarily high prices for them.

The Watchtower instills the type of thinking that will allow its members to beat their children to death. Of course, there is only a small percentage of JW's that are part of this psycho-demented mindset. Thank God, this kind of behavior raises its ugly head only once in a while . . .Lango and Bryant to name two. However, I wonder how many adults and children out there in JW land have sufferred lashes, bruises, open wounds or broken bones at the hands of a domineering patriarch ? Many I'm sure . . .and we'll never hear about it because it's all kept hush, hush, in the family.

In the U. S. taxes are much higher than the comparable social returns. The French don't pay much more in taxes than U.S. citizens pay ( on the average ), however, their return - in social services- is extraordinarily more than that of the average U.S. citizen.

It was 1972-73. The elders and cong had locked in my wife's mind and soul, capping everything with the upcoming 1975 terror. I did my best to understand what JWs were all about but could not. That's when the elders jumped on me, calling me a goat and saying I did not have the right heart for Jehovah's organization. They immediately went to work helping my wife disassociate from me, which she did. Divorced 1975.
