  Planned, talked about....but didn't go........

  my wife has been talking up how much she wanted to attend this weekend's one day assembly in rosenburg.

  she made all these big plans, had her hair done, been dropping hints all month that she would like it if i attended with her.

  (i had no intention of going and listening to that garbage.).

  Hey Storm,

  My wife is a lot like yours.She wants me to go to the upcoming circuit assembly with her,but I'm working that day and said I wouldn't take the day off.She said she needs me to go with her because she's afraid of facing some of her jw friends that have treated her like shit.Well,I told her if there really was true love in the org.,those things wouldn't matter and she'd be excited to go.She also misses a lot of meetings because she feels so alone there and out of place and still thinks that it's by attending meetings that we'll make real jw friends.

  Well,in 10 years I never made one true jw friend and all her "friends"(except for one) have turned on her due to their conditional love arrangement.Anyways,I'm using this love thing to work at her to prove that it's not the truth.John 13:34-35

  i was out to lunch with my wife today and she was telling me how our child did not want to go to school that day because they were doing a bunch of st patricks day stuff.

  our child really can't stand being different and left out.

  i feel so bad for my child.

  Great post!

  I'm in the exact same boat as you ithinkisee with my wife.I will print the material and add it to my collection.

  The main point I'm presently using is the LOVE issue based on Jn13:34-35.I have never had even 1 true jw friend and presently have no friends because I turned my back on all my "worldly associates" when I became a jw.My wife has seen all but one of her close friends(some who called her a sister or daugther) turn on her for basic trivial reasons.Also the conduct of many others in the congregation,including some ms and elders has shown a severe lack of love.And it's not the odd isolated case but a general problem here.When I asked her "can you feel the love?",she didn't say anything.She has a very hard time going to meetings without me and I told her if there was true genuine christian love there,you wouldn't be afraid to go by yourself,you would still love going.Anyways,this angle is working slowly in my favor.

  Keep us posted on your progress,I really enjoy reading about it.

  what i find amazing is that video games would be allowed in the first place.

  As in all things,proper balance needs to be used.My favorite and only video game was hockey(I sold it 2 yrs ago,console and all).I sold it because I had played it for 4 years and wasn't playing it much any more.

  I know of some in the local congregation who are addicted to all types of video-games,spend thousands of dollars to have the latest,stay up till 3 or 4 am playing and even raise their children to be addicts like themselves.

  i think i've finally left the jw's.

  i have not been an active member since 2000, but always thought i would go back.

  the problem (or solution) has been that i started to reason on how the true god or super being really viewed mankind.

  I have been inactive since 1999 but I am still somewhat connected because of family issues.I speak to my wife occasionally about my feelings for the WTS that have changed.I agree with you that many jw's are good people,but as I keep telling my wife,There's something seriously wrong with that religion!

  and when they say they keep knocking on the same doors in case peoples circumstances have changed.

  they are looking for something in that persons life so they can build them up.

  so why search out weak ones?

  You still have some kind of fear of jw's.

  I had nightmares for about 2-3 years when I started slacking off.The dreams were always basically the same;I was being chased or pursued by men who wanted to catch me and do me harm.Then one day it occured to me,I still had a fear of jw's,like they could in my life or my home and still control me.Once I figured it out,the nightmares stopped and I sleep much better.

  Blondie mentioned that they would give a copy to every baptized JW.I think it might be every JW IN GOOD STANDING....which means attending every meeting,commenting and being active in the field ministry.So I doubt I'd get one if I showed up,last meeting I went to was dec.5th,2004.Besides I think they'd get off not giving me one,hoping I'd be shamed into submission and start attending all meetings,commenting,going in field service.....

  it's been a while since the society has been specific about what kind of music to avoid hasn't it?.

  the last i remember was when the said to stay away from rap and heavy metal.

  that was a while ago.

  In our congregation,whatever the PO didn't know or like was banned.

  Dancing Queen by Abba was suppose to be about a stripper

  Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees was just not to be played at get-togethers.We played it once and even did the travolta strut along with it,had a real laugh with that one.

  I was at a get-together(like that one?) once where we wanted to have If you're gonna play in Texas-you gotta have a fiddle in the band by Alabama.Well,the PO just about freaked out,he didn't know the song so it wasn't gonna play.I was totally stunned;I was 28 yrs old and too stupid or "spiritually immature" to know if a song could be played,only the PO had that privilege.A while later his son played one of his favorites:Fortunate Son by CCR.A real cool song but still patriotic and not for jw loyalists.

  Gas price in your area?

  here in quebec, ordinary unleaded is 94.4 cents a litre.

  (that's the cheapest gas!!!).

  there are 3.78 liters per american gallon, so this would give $3.57 a us gallon..... what's the price of gas in your area?

  89.9cents/liter at the Esso here,probably 86.9 at the independents
