Towards the end, I became less focused on placing rag-azines, and more on sharing about the Bible. Prior to that, I just wanted to put in the 2 hours and go home.

How did you get out of sitting through the Convention?
by Confucious in.
someone else wrote a good thread about the naughtiest thing you've ever done at a convention.. ok... what did you do to "legally" get out of your chair?.
for me, it was easy, because i got to volunteer at some desk so i had 'permission' to be walking around in the hallways.

At one DC in Amarillo, TX, my dad was assigned to security (the yellow highlighter over the Attendant lapel badge). I got to roam all the nooks & crannies of the Amarillo Arena. Such fun!

I think that traditional funerals are frowned unpon, but not officially on the no-no list. The reason is simple: $$$$ (big suprise on that). A traditional funeral will cost between 6 and 10 thousnad dollars. A cremation will run a fraction of that. After all, brothers, what better way to show loyalty to mother by giving the money saved by cremating your loved one to the WT$ instead of some undertaker?

Special Field Service Campaign at DA
by limbogirl ini have this memory of going to a da back in the mid to late seventies -- i was about 8 years old -- and there was a special field service campaign.
seems to me that one of the assembly days was shortened and everyone was given a service kit -- some tracts in a plastic bag -- and everyone was to go out and preach for the remainder of the afternoon.
i remember going with my dad to get in line to pick up the bag of tracts and then going into the neighborhood around the stadium to witness.

I recall this also. It was during one of these field service campaingns that I was educated on the Armenian Genocide.

United 93
by XJW4EVR inmy wife & i went to see this movie on saturday.
we deliberately went to see this movie on the mi3 opening weekend and at a theater that was playing mi3 as a mini-protest and the tom cruise cult.
i'll tell you that united 93 was a good film that portrayed the terrorists not in a cartoonish manner as the delta force, but as humans.

That's interesting. I know that the terrorist pilot had a girlfriend back in Germany and as far as she knew, they were getting married in a few weeks. I wonder if they mentioned that?
They did not mention that per se, however they showed that terrorist making a cell phone call in which he tells the recipient, "I love you." Perhaps this is why the filmaker played the terrorist pilto as having second thoughts. The filmmaker also seemed to indicate that this hijacker waited longer to take over the plane. They intimated that it was the "muscle" hijackers that caused him to move on the cockpit.
Again, most of this is speculation.

My wife & I went to see this movie on Saturday. The film depicted the ringleader of this band of terrorists as possibly having second thoughts. Granted, that we do not know exactly what happened on that flight which crashed in Pensylvania, it was an interesting conjecture.
The passengers that fomented the rebellion against the terrorists were not protrayed as gung-ho Americans. Instead they were portrayed as people that accepted their fate, but decided to try and do something about saving more innocent lives even if at the expense of their own.
I was struck by the manner in which the normality of 9/11 was portrayed. Those of you on the east coast anf in Europe had some semblance of a normal. On that day, I (and the rest of the west coast) was awokened to gasps of horror from the radio regarding the plane crashing into the North Tower. The remainder of the events on that fateful day pretty much dominated the news here on the west coast.
I think that this is an important film that should be seen as a reminder why we should "never forget."

I realize people hear lack faith, Can't change them, but may this will help
by jw inthe apostle paul told the christians in the ancient city of philippi: "this is what i continue praying, that your love may abound yet more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment.
philippians 1:9
similarly, accurate knowledge is needed for you to be motivated to believe in god.

Nearly no one other than JWs and Southern Baptists still claim Paul wrote it.
Really and who are these people, who don't believe Paul wrote Hebrews. The current thought among many Bible scholars is that Luke was the author of Hebrews due to the type of Greek used in this book, however, some do hold that Paul wrote this book. In either case, Paul had some influence on this book, either directly or indirectly.

Are you tired of the whole atheist/believer debate?
by nicolaou ini'm usually the first one to stir this particular pot but it get's so frustrating to keep coming up against the same old arguments.
the phrase "banging your head against a brick wall" springs to mind.
how many times have believers argued for a designer but refused to answer the obvious question of the designer's origin?.

BTW -- we aren't just talking about man evolving from primates but that single cell animals evolve into fish which then evolve into reptiles which then evolve into ;rodents which then evolve into mammals and then evolve into man .
From the goo, through the zoo, to you??!!

I saved Flight 93 for this weekend as a sort of mini-protest against Cruise.
