i am an active jw and was raised as one.

i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.

i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).

I will try to take a deep breath and chill out some,
thanks for that thought in your response to my rant
about "door to door" interpretation. However,

"fuzzy (math) language" stop and the "truth" begin?

You, as current spokesman/defender of the WT
doctrine can't have it both ways and then try to
capture that moral, legal, intellectually honest
hugh ground with "fuzz", parsed words and kind
phrases.

Let's cut to the chase. I, as many here have asked
for your proof of your (WT's) beliefs. As one earlier
poster said "test". A test would entail some postion
then proving it's validity. Just as dubs harshly cast
aspersions on those "householders" and "worldly"
ones who are unable to make a coherent case for
their believes other than "i believe therefore its true"
IMHO you fall into the same category but are just
more diplomatic and polite so far.

Possible 2 Tier System?

someone - i can't recall who - posted an opinion that the jw relgion would shortly split into 2 separate bodies.. as i recall, the poster opined that 1 group would remain as fundamental as it is now, whilst the other would go much more mainstream, maybe even abandoning contentious beliefs such as shunning and refusing blood.. if i remember correctly, the writer felt that the 2 groups would still remain under the control of brooklyn, but they would actually be of separate 'classes'.

something like ordinary catholics and jesuits, i guess.. i can't find the post, but i think that it is an interesting concept.

it would certainly solve many of their problems to have an elite class alongside a junior one, it would also allow the fds to fade away gracefully.

league for sure!! Don't remember the previous thread
but like the concept. IMHO you seem to be on target
with significan changes ahead.

Just as the printing press combined with inexpensive
paper allowed Luther's message to gain a wide audience
and change the dominant and controlling religious tone
of his day so will the "net" accomplish the same effect
in our day. The time frame will be greatly compressed!!!

them in their "houses of worship" not house to house and
not door to door. Again the WT changes/adds to "inspired"
scriture to satisisfy their need to go door to door to sell
mags to get the money. Just follow the money, just follow
the money a quote from deep throat re: WaterGate scandal.

You have your work cut out here. You can believe what ever
you want but your 2+2 will never = 4. If you can live with lies,
deception, intellectual dishonesty then have fun.

Ask your self would Jesus ever asscoiate or condone this
manner of conduct?

If evolution is true ?

if evolution is true and god doesnt exist, and all matter always existed, and life keeps adapting and getting more and more advanced, conquering all problems set before its existence.. then life should have already filled the entire universe and advanced to the point of never dying.. am i being presumptuous?.

- i understand that it's used in reference to those considered 'active' jws, but as to what the term actually means i dunno - please enlighten me ...

My niece's change of heart.....

in my never-ending task of trying to get my niece out of jws clutches, i have good news.

just a brief history.

my lifetime jw mom raised my niece from the age of 9 due to my sister's alcohol and drug abuse.

worthwhile yet I will never cease to be amazed

seems to be the opening crack. It is from within
not from without that starts the thinking process.
hahahhahahahahahahahaha.

The loyal dubs are soooo concerned with out
side influence when it is their own miserable
behavior that cracks the door open. Such was
my case also.

Message Blurred

toward the end of my pioneering days i remember beginning to run into people from churches who told me they believed they would live on earth forever.

they believed jesus would live here with them.

i also ran into trouble distinguishing witness beliefs in other areas from other denomination's beliefs.. after 25 more years, i would think this would be even more the case now.. has anyone who has recently left noticed more of this blurring of differences between jw doctrine and regular christian church doctrine?.

good thought. imvho i believe that we are
just starting to see this blurring effect and
it will really start to accelerate in the next
few years. in another 5-10 years the wts
will be as bland and indistinguable as cold
oatmeal. the heat, passion, vision, direction
is long gone to the "committee graveyard".
