how do you feel about people who smoke in public places such as bars and restaurants?

if i complain about smokers in my pub, they say: "it's a pub, what do you expect?".

i can't see the reasoning here.

I believe that in California the state
banned all smoking in bars, clubs
etc. Within several months even
the non-smoking workers in those
places noticed much improved
heatlth, less colds and sickness.

seems to stand to reason.

I finally got glasses!

btw, i turned 30 thursday nov. 1.. i finally broke down and went to lenscrafters today.

did the exam and selected transitions lenses.

when they made the glasses and i tried them on it was awful!

I did lasik corrective eye surgery last year.

WOW what a wonderful experience.

If we were a congregation?

if the group here was a congregation, what role would each person here play?.

I would be the wantabe brother who had his
"privledges" stripped and deleted as a MS
cuz my two teen aged daughters, who were
ignored by the in group, ended up with (gasp)
worldly friends!!

I would be the brother who was forced out of
his home by his super JW wife for being spirit-
ually weak.

I would be the brother who filed for divorce when
my ever faithful (to FDS) wife of 30 years took a
postion of zero comprimise, zero tolerance, zero
forgiveness.

I am the brother who is now labeled as "bad
association" for seeking a divorce. hahahahaha

I am the brother who has slipped thru the cracks
and no one has the balls to contact.

Sorry for the serious tone but it helps to get this
off my chest. I love you guys and totally jealous
of all your good humor and often find my self
ROTFLMAO and wid tears in my eyes laughing
so hard.

I apprciate all the comments here and feel that my
life has been rescued.

I even have found a girl friend!! (gasp not only is
she worldly but an x-Morman) toooo funny,

What will it take to really change the WT Society?

for many ex-jehovahs witnesses there is a disconnection between what we wish we could be doing in terms of making pronounced change in the ideological structure of the watch tower society or the dissolution of it, and what we actually find ourselves doing.

at some level we sense there are incredible potentials just waiting to be realized in the collective struggle to bring down the tower not just because it is fundamentally wrong and harmful to millions of lives but also for the changes it will make in our lives.

over the years though, i think a lot of us kind of feel that we are stumbling around in the dark trying one thing or another without anything serving as catalyst that starts an energetic chain reaction.. in a way, it reminds me of a phenomenon i learned back in my college days about termites.

IMHO I think the change is already happening. The
discovery and publishing of the UN incident and the
very quick response of the GB is evidence of this.

Hopefully more will be divulged but the GB has to be
pissing in there pants about what goes on here and
the huge effect on everything they say, write and try
to predict. They are the ones that are under the micro-
scope both for everything they had ever said and, for
sure, every word they ever write in the future.

Quite a shocking prospect for them knowing that we
know what we do, are able to research to the final dot
and then with the power of world wide, immediate, unrestricted,
and FREE publishing empire (net) that we all contribute to,
control and advertise, advertise, advertise on

The tables have turned and it will take time but will continue
at an ever increasing pace until the WTS is totally generic,
bland and very mainstream. ie: dead!!!.

as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

What really gets me going

i have gone through various emotions including anger at the wtbts for all that i went through while growing up only to be disfellowshipped at 22.. my net result is a dead father due to the blood issue and a split family and, of course, years of wasted time.. i would like to say, however, that i am not angry with all witnesses and i am not a conspiracist who believes the leaders have a hidden agenda.. i believe that informed persons should be able to join the witnesses if they believe it is right for them.. what i hate though is the fact that thousands of children, like i was, are still indoctrinated from birth.

they are told "we don't baptise babies because they are too young to choose it for themselves.

" but in reality, what choice are you really giving a child who by the age of 13 would have experienced: 3380 hours of meetings, 832 hours of larger assemblies, possibly 1560 hours of field service, at least 2028 hours of personal study (watchtower, book study and personal study) and more importantly, what choice does a child have who is told they have an open mind but who is never allowed examine religions or persons with opposing views?.
