  What's with the native garb anyway ?

  Trying to tie different dress to certain countries seems a little worldly.

  What is the native garb for americans or british?

  A couple should dress like a congo brother and sister and show up in loin cloths.

  PRAYING.... Is it the answer to eating disorders?

  i found that the article on 'young popele ask....do i have an eating disorder?

  ' in the awake magazine for october 2006 to have worrying advice in it.. apparantly the answer to this problem, according to the wtbts is prayer!

  how did psychiatrists miss this for so long?.

  After all they disfellowship people for smoking because it ruins the body and smoking

  isn't even directly mentioned in the bible.

  Gluttony however is specifically mentioned as sin in the bible.

  Eating disorders can have as severe health consequences as smoking.

  should be good for a lot of and hell raising tonight.

  the Sunday meeting. On Sunday, look around see who made it then feel self righteous

  that you made it but others didn't, then rub it next time you saw the person.

  Making it to the meeting or field service seemed to cancel out sins.

  anyone else have similar experiences?

  Interesting and ironic aspect of JW doctrine.

  i was reading the "news" on fark.com and one of the topics that came up was how some fundamentalists are refusing rabies treatment for their children based on some supposed scripture.

  i suspect it was the same "old light" that the wt used to forbid true christians (meaning jw's) from being vaccinated.. the conversation turned to weird religious beliefs used to make children suffer and their parents to appear more "spiritual" as a result of that suffering (a weird kind of munchausen's complex if you ask me).

  in the process up pop the dubs and blood transfusions.. an observation was that the martyred children are often placed on the cover of the wt literature or have articles written describing their spiritual strength; in other words certain people who have followed the rules are hilighted as being particularly "special" in some way.. just to make sure, i called up my book study reader who has about 50 years of serving the wt and asked him "why don't jw's celebrate mother's day again?".

  Because it would be a idolatry to place one person before another was the answer from the 50 year inside Pioneer/Elder

  What a bunch of bs.

  Maybe their answer would be we aren't idolzing one person because there are several

  photos on the cover.

  think about this: if seven times mean only 7 years then daniel could have simply said 7 years.

  why does daniel specifically use the word 'times' rather than years?

  as we have already shown daniel used the word for 7 times instead of 7 years.

  to what extent has the growth of the "fade" been facilitated by internet forums such as this?

  sure there were people who chose to fade in the pre-internet era, simply by withdrawing themselves, gradually involving themselves with non-witnesses to a greater extent, or getting in touch with other ex-witnesses covertly through the convention system/telephone and mailing support network that used to be more important before the advent of the internet.

  so the "fade" is not an invention of the internet era, not en entirely "new phenomenon".
