For some odd and paranoid reason (I guess because it was the only thing that stuck out in my mind after hearing it and it sounded so gruesome) I always got panicky when I saw alot of birds. No not from seeing the movie and getting panicky but because it was alway said that after Armageddon the birds of the heavens would eat all the deceased bodies. I always got a little freaked when I saw a large amount of birds within a close time frame because I was thinking OH OH they getting gathered together to eat the dead people....That's all I was on the watch for...

What is your Favorite Scene from a Movie?
by Sweetp0985 ini thought about this topic last night for the board when watching one of my favorite movies.. 1. the man from snowy river- the part when they are going after the expensive colt and they get to the edge of the cliff and all the other riders stop and "jim" keeps going and leaps down the cliff after the wild horses.
i absolutely love that part of the movie...everytime its on i have to watch it, if not just to see this part only.. 2. love and basketball- when she tells him she will play for his heart...awwww first time i started crying.
and then the music they had playing in the background made it even worse.

Then when he wins and tells her its all or nothing....It's so nice to be in love and have that person love you back. Too bad I don't have that...Oh well I still love that scene.
3. You've Got Mail- I love at the end when she finds out that Joe F-O-X is the her love from the Internet. I have cried about 4 out of the 7-8 times I've seen this movie. (Am I always that emotional...Hell no) It's just this movie and just a select few others brings out the tears.
These are just a few of the best scenes from movies that I wanted to start off with for now....Please add to the thread with your fav scenes.

My mom will not stop leaving her JW mags around my house everytime she visits. She says she's leaving them for my brother. I just happened to come across the new magazine/brochure whatever the hell it is. "Keep On The Watch!" I asked her if this was a new Watchtower but she said no. Anyway I was scanning through the book and came across this. I thought it was rather interesting because it seems to me they are blatantly referring to the "molesters" within the congregations and still upholding them because of a little "sin"..I couldn't find the article online anywhere and if it's been posted on this board before sorry for the repost...

"Above All Things, Have Intense Love"
13 Love moves us to overlook the shortcomings of others. Recall that when admonishing his readers to "have intense love for one another," Peter gave the reason why this is so important: "Because love covers a multitude of sins."(1 Peter 4:8) To 'cover' sins does not mean to 'cover up' serious sins. Such matters are rightly reported to and handled by responsible ones in the congregation. (Leviticus 5:1;Proverbs 29:24) It would be most unloving--and unscriptural--to allow gross sinners to continue hurting or victimizing innocent ones.--1 Corinthians 5:9-13.
14 In most cases, the mistakes and faults of fellow believers are minor in nature. We all stumble in word or deed at times, disappointing or even hurting one another. (James 3:2) Should we be quick to publicize the shortcomings of others?(Silent Lambs perhaps?) Such a course would only serve to create friction in the congregation. (Ephesians 4:1-3) If we are governed by love, we will not "give away a fault" of a fellow worshiper. (Psalm 50:20) Just as a plaster and paint cover the imperfections of a wall, so love covers the imperfections of others.--Proverbs 17:9.
The lettering in red is what I added by everything else is verbatim except for my typos. So they want you to let love cover a multitude of sins and not let gross sinners continue hurting or victimizing innocent ones, but at the same time they say don't publicize it. So does that mean don't go out in the public with it or just tell the elders and don't warn others in the congregation, or to keep from creating friction don't tell anyone and let Jehovah handle it???
What is your opinions on this?

Are you folks familiar with this website? Bethel propaganda
by BONEZZ inhttp://www.jwnews.co.nr/
it seems to be run by a bethelite and has some fairly up-to-date info on it.
some of the stories crack me up because i heard them years ago, just in a different context...like the one by george couch and the "famous" person that was called on...and the story from garrit losch and the "crime boss.

Would you have accepted THIS response from the Watchtower. Re: U.N
by integ indear brothers,
it has been brought to our attention that certain brothers have had questions regarding the societies' membership as a non governmental organization with the united nations from 1991-2001. rest assured that we are no longer members, having removed ourselves from this organization over 3 years ago.
it was only in our undaunted zeal to proclaim the good news to "all nations" (as was jesus' admonition), in these critical last days, that the faithful slave class approved membership as an ngo.

I guess they forgot about what they said in the 1/79 Awake or Watchtower about not joining YMCA because you were agreeing to their rules. I'm quite sure the UN had some membership rules also that they had to agree to to even join. I know Blondie posted all that on another board. They just trying to cover their ass because more and more people are finding out they were a member.
And like the brothel example which was funny yet true. That's just like a group of elders going to a local church, sitting through the whole sermon, and then trying to recruit some of the parishoners(sp). That wouldn't quite float with the preacher or other JW's so even though it was a different scenerio, that's what basically happened with the UN. They had to satisfy the regulations of the UN which meant not talking so bad about them in the magazines. And they had to keep the other JW's happy by NOT LETTING THEM KNOW that their "only true" organizations was a part of the UN.

I caught a few good shots this morning I just hope my camera saw the same thing and the film cooperates also. At 6 pm I'm gonna try to get the best ones when all 80+ balloons are supposed to take off at the same time. If my pics come out right, I'll try to get them posted on here some kind of way...gotta do it the old fashioned way. Go to Kinko's and scan it and save it on the disc. I guess I need to move up to modern times huh?

Ya'll make me wanna go invest in a digital camera now. I still have an ancient lil 110 film type camera. My coworker was laughing at me tonight because we had our annual hot air balloon competitions all this week and we went out there to see the Balloon Glow tonight and I pulled out my lil whipper snapper camera and she laughed at me. Said I needed to step it up a notch. After seeing the pics on here I now want a better camera. I'm gonna get one too. I hope the few lil pics I took will come out being that it was nighttime. I took some pics of the fireworks too. My coworker said they might not come out because fireworks come out better on video cams and digital cameras. I'm gonna be upset if they don't come out but I'll still have the memories in my head. Where I work at the launch/balloon field is directly behind my office and I see them taking off all morning. I'm gonna try to take some more shots later on this morning when they start taking off around 7 am. Then they have a mass ascension at 6 pm. So I hope my lil rinkie dink camera makes me proud.
I should have been gotten a better camera because I love taking pictures. I just found this camera a few days ago when doing some ultimate cleaning in my room before school starts in a few weeks. I love taking pics. How much does a good quality digital cam run?

How Many JWs or ExJWs Have Some Type of Mental Problems?
by minimus indo you think they are more succeptible to illness than others?
?
-
Sweetp0985
My grandmother used to work at a local Mental Health Hospital and she told me there were alot of JW's that came through there for their weekly "treatments". She still refuses to tell me some of the names due to their privacy.
I love my mom. But I know for a fact she has problems mentally but the thing is everyone else around her can see it except her. I remember when I was still living with my JW dad and stepmom they always labeled my mom as crazy. I even had a friend that was never baptized but went to alot of meetings tell me that alot of the friends feel sorry for my mom and they know she has a problem thats why they let her get away with some of the "crazy" things she does. I didn't say anything at the time because this was a good friend of mine telling me this. But if I ever hear of another JW saying something about my mom, I swear they are gonna hear some words from me because my dub mom can't curse them out. I CAN!!!! But on the real I wish my mom would seek some kind of treatment but she doesn't see the problem she has. Hell I need treatment myself. No medicine, but just a good counselor or something. I live day to day by the skin of my teeth, most days waking up only to wish I had never woke up.

I must be just weird. If I'm not watching a movie on HBO, Cinemax, etc. I'm probably watching Food Network or Cops. I guess I wouldn't want to miss an episode of Iron Chef. I also like Food Finds also. Everytime I see Cops on I watch that too. Not really a series or sitcom person. I flip through the stations alot too like if I'm watching something and a commercial comes on I keep flipping until I find something else interesting and when a commercial comes on that channel, I'm gone again.
I really been watching VH1 lately with the I love the 70's,80's and 90's shows. I feel so old when watching that because I remember all of that stuff.
