  Letter to all congregations in Canada 2010

  pledge forms will be issued to all brothers & sisters requesting for donations for k.h.,assembly halls,reno of k.h.etc.they did give some poor excuse as why this was necessary.my guess is that the brothers who made interest free loans to the wbts are asking for these loans back because of all the layoffs and the down turn in the economy.. bob.

  Gee, I was told by J.W family members that they "Don't pass the basket like Catholics do".

  I guess that is all changed now. Hmmm......another "change".

  Oh, and Catholics do "pledges" also.

  Conditional love dilema....need advice

  one of my daughters has been dating a guy for about two years now.

  they are starting to talk about marriage, but ran into a "snag" involving his family from his previous marriage, which may disolve the whole relationship.

They are starting to talk about marriage, but ran into a "snag" involving his family from his previous marriage, which may disolve the whole relationship. I won't go into details about that. It's something they have to work out amongst themselves.

  This fellow is so good to my daughter and grandaughter...always there when called with a problem, always very concerned and helpful, would be a great stepdad for my grandaughter, ect.

  This last year especially, I have been spending quite a few times with my daughters boyfriend. We have a lot in common, especially going to "Cruise nights", and we have been going to many of them last year, and occasionally with my daughter, too. So, we are getting pretty close. I am treating him like a "soon to be" son-in-law.

  My j.w. daughter and her husband dropped in last night, to play cards and spend time with us, and although I didn't want to bring up the problem concerning my other (non-jw) daughter and her boyfriend, the subject did come up. My j.w. daughter then tells me that if my other daughter breaks up with her boyfriend, I shouldn't hang out with him this summer, and go to Cruise nights with him. I disagree, and told her that was "Conditional love" ...(planted a little seed here), and said that wouldn't be right. She said my other daughter would be upset if I continued being friends with him. I said that their situation doesn't involve him beating her, or mistreating her, so it shouldn't matter if I continue being his friend. We argued that point for a while, and finally dropped the subject.

  So, I am curious to what you think. Should I continue to maintain a friendship with this guy, or break all contact with him, as my j.w. daughter tells me I should do?

  I totally agree with "JAFO", Moshe. They are probably fading, and looking for a good "worldly" friend for their daughter.

  They don't realize the perfect place they are in, being your neighbor. As I know you will...take it slow.

  i am going for the first time to a local kingdom hall.

  i seem to have the same ideas as the jehovah's witnesses.

  i was raised southern baptist, but i never could get into it.

  The local KH gave me free chairs!

  i have noticed a slow-build kh going up next to the old kh in my city(almost done).

  a few days ago i just drove into the parking lot and looked around- the brothers were outside, just getting their service groups together for the morning's field circus.

  i noticed a stack of nice office chairs with armrests and the sign, "free" next to them.

  I Saw Goofy Looking JWs Going To The Donut Shop Today

  i'm sure they were witnesses although i only saw a bookbag.

  all 4 men were dressed in dress coats and suits and ties.

  as they emerged from the car they all had this goofy look on their faces like they were so happy to be going to the donut/ coffee shop.. so stupid looking..

  woman shoots and kills intruder in lincoln county cushing a woman with a shotgun was on the phone to a 911 dispatcher this morning in lincoln county when she shot and killed an intruder who crashed through her back patio door.. .

  donna jackson, 56, told the dispatcher a man she didn't know was at her sliding glass door to her back patio about 12:40 a.m. at 352112 e 800 road south of the cushing city limits, said lincoln county sheriff chuck mangion.. she was armed with a 16-gauge shotgun when the dispatcher heard the glass door smash and the shotgun blast, mangion said.. a man identified as billy dean riley, 53, was struck once in the chest and pronounced dead when emergency medical workers arrived, mangion said.. jackson was not harmed.. jackson was home alone when her dog woke her up, mangion said.

  she turned all the lights in the house on and then armed herself with the shotgun.

  He's not getting a second chance to try that again, she killed him.

  Good thing too, if he was that determined to get in the house, he may have raped and killed her in the attack, not just robbing her.
