  To everyone who posted on this thread.....remember one thing. Farkel has written many great things here on JWD. And many of these things make a lot of sense.
  
  But you must remember that Farkel does not take any comments, advice, or criticism.....whether that criticism be positive or other....very well!
  
  His purpose in his after JW life is only to serve and satisfy his own ego. The rest of us are the spawn of vermin.....who eagerly wait for some crumb of intellect to fall to a place where we can feed a little. This is what keeps him going.
  
  Farkel.......if you would show the least bit of humility instead of your lofty thoughts of your own ideas.......maybe someone would give you a bit of applause.
  
  But then again.......some people love the illusion of being "legends in their own mind".

  Life sure is beautiful after the BS of the past. I don't have any grandkids, but hope to before I go away.
  
  In a way, I'm glad I don't have any grandkids because of my daughter's marriage to the useless piece of turd JW she divorced 12 years ago.

  Every time you open the door the light comes on.....and when you close the door the light goes out. Soooooooooo the next time you go to the frigidator for a beer, look at it as "NEW LIGHT" when you open the door.
  
  NEW LIGHT is always good. Is is just as good as BUD LIGHT or COORS LIGHT or MILLER LIGHT or whatever LIGHT you like. NEW LIGHT gives you new perspective on the mysteries of life and the universe. On the days that you have too much NEW LIGHT, you just don't give a $hit about trying to understand any mystery at all.

  Fridges are a good thing because they keep things cool/cold.
  
  And gas/charcol grills are good because they make/keep things hot.
  
  Anything else is "lukewarm" and we all know what happens to "lukewarm" things.

  do the jw's still consider stevie nicks from fleetwood mac to be a pagan witch-type?

  i picked out the song "landslide" for my mother's funeral about a month ago, which most of my extended family, jw's one and all, attended.

  it didn't even cross my mind when i selected the song, my mom just had always liked it.

  I too have had emotion over these lyrics.
  
  I read the lyrics of this song and it brought tears to my eyes as I reflect this song towards my wife.
  
  Well, Ive been afraid of changing

  Children get older
  Im getting older too
  
  That song haunted me for a few years after my wife died in 1996 and the words were so true.
  
  Now a comment about the thread...........Yes, the JW's condemned many singers and groups in the day and probably still do today. But look at the hypocracy of it. Their closed minds pointed fingers at what our generation loved, but what about singers with so much controversy around them such as Frank Sinatra (mafia friends), and the Andrew Sisters (mafia friends too. I believe one of them actually was married to a mob head for awhile), and what about Johnny Mathis who was one of the greatest singers ever? HE IS GAY! But they closed their eyes to all of that. They only picked on the things young ones liked at the time.
  
  Ahhhh.......now I'm pissed...thinking about days gone by! But I'm glad the BS is in the past.

  apparently the current president has started work on his autobiography which he hopes to have ready for release when he leaves office.. he's run into a few issues though ... apparently his coloring-in went over the lines in quite a few places and he had trouble cutting out the popup shapes with the plastic safety scissors he was allowed to use..

  Simon, I won't argue with you about that even though I once supported him. After the fact............I guess he was just Dick Cheney's (and the other holder's of power) marrionette. Bush danced to whatever strings they pulled. A very sorry state of affairs for the United States. He didn't have the brains to make a decision of his own.
