  the anwser is: know one really knows but jehovah.. i have been df'd for 3 years now.

  i still struggle with: "should i go back cuz i dont want to die" .

  but then its not really for the "right" reason.

  Hi Sinamongirl,

  Welcome to the board...

  I've had very similar 'discussions' with myself since being DF'd approx 12 years ago. It sounds like you came up with similar answers too - if you go back to avoid 'death', surely that's not enough... I also still have occasional nightmares about Armageddon, and have come to accept these as something I'll endure while i get the remains of this cults teachings eradicated from my mind.

  It's a good place to heal here (for the most part), approach things with an open mind, and be prepared to dig deep into your instilled beliefs and question them openly and honestly.

  Real Friends

  real friends dont push you into being something you are not?

  real friends accept you for who you are without hesitation.

  it is impossible to be a real friend with conditional love.. so when you broke free from the watchtowers conditional love..did your dissapointment of bing rejected and ignord by friends and family damage the love and friendship you once had for individuals?.

  Hi PF,

  I was brought up a jw, and for the most part, I am really disappointed in my so called Friends from the JW world. However, I'm sure if they were no longer in the org, things would be very different.

  My best friend who I grew up with, is no longer a JW either. We are incredibly close, closer than I am to my my 'biological' brother (who incidentally is no longer a JW either). Other friends that no longer submit to the WTBTS gong have also gotten in contact again, so I think there must be some seeds of real friendship / love sown, just deeply buried by JW propoganda.

  I hope and pray that my old friends will come to their senses someday soon.

  My ex was an Aeroplane blonde.... she still had a black box!

  Re my earlier post - I make no apologies for my little rant. It really gets my back up when people whine (or worse) simply because somebody tells a joke about them, or their particular 'pigeon hole'.(I've had plenty of jokes pointed in my direction, believe me!!) I tell jokes about disabled - I have disabled friends. I tell jokes about blacks( or other skin coloured people) - I have black friends. I tell jokes about blondes - yet still admire their beauty. As I said, I think the only reason people have become so hypersensitive and politically correct is because it opens the path for compensation claims, or gets people out of awkward situations in courts. (that comment is not intended to belittle or berate the cause of minorities who genuinely do suffer prejudist acts that threaten lives / livelihood).

  IMO, I think this whole Political correct shite has gone way too far. It's over sensitizing the world - people are far too 'prissy' about themselves - you can't say anything for fear of 'offending' some race, culture, gender, sex, minority.

  LIGHTEN UP, LAUGH AT YOURSELF AND OTHERS. IT WILL NOT HURT!!!!

  People are in way too much of a hurry to be hurt these days, purely because they can point a finger and get compensation for it!!!

  In my 'younger' days, if someone takes the piss out of you, you either laugh, answer back with something witty, or ignore them. The last thing you do is put your hand up and say 'miss, they're making fun of me'... you'd have had the piss taken for life, no friends and probably have the crap kicked out of you for being such a whinge arse.

  Life is full of prejudisms...and whilst they stay good humoured and non violent - GET OVER YOURSELF AND DEAL WITH IT!!!

  1) Martial Arts - always loved em and desperately wanted to be a wrestler.. big no-no with the borg!

  HELP ME! I cant cope with this anymore.

  for those of you that remember the story a couple of weeks ago about my 4 year old daughter that declared us a witness free zone to her grandparents (my extremely devout parents!!!

  ) well the little minx strikes again.

  Witnesses don't judge remember..... unless they're getting in practice to be one of the 144000!!

  Sounds to me like you've come a long way farther than I have in such a short time - I've not had any of these "I'm not a witness because" talks - you are already a whole lot stronger than you realise!!

  Hope you got the East Midlands meet on Friday - sorry I couldn't be there... but I can't be too sad cos i was with my little girl!!

  Did I Do The Right Thing?

  this happened just about an hour ago.

  i'd driven out of town to do some remedial work for a customer, so i was driving my battered old ford sierra.

  coming back into wsm, i was a few hundred yards from a large roundabout and was positioned in the correct lane, ie, the centre one, and slowing to a stop.

  I'm surprised they didn't breathalyse him and you - standard procedure at an accident!!!

  Ditto everyone elses thoughts - it's irresponsible to drive if any medication etc. impairs your driving ability.

  You definitely did the right thing - he could have had another accident on the way home and killed himself, or worse as is usually the case, some other poor person!!

  The birds are getting ready to eat us?

  my mom (a baptized jw who hasn't been to a meeting willfully in years) commented today on how the birds in the neighborhood have been acting more aggressive lately.

  how they've been taunting and divebombing our cat, being loud and obnoxious, etc..(the probable reason for this is that our cat probably killed a baby bird or something).

  she said the birds are getting ready to eat animals.

  This irrational fear of Armageddon must be more prelevant than I thought - I still get occasional nightmares about the big A, and panic attacks when I see things on the news that I would've associated with Imminent Armageddon when I was a dubbie. I never realised so many others have the same / similar distressing thoughts and feelings about it.

  I just hope the bird with my name on it isn't my friends cockatiel..he does eye me up suspiciously sometimes...!!!! It's a savage creature that would put the fear of birds into most bird lovers!! LOL

  He used to let it out occasionally, until it started attacking the poor cat. The cat was asleep in the middle of the living room carpet. Dale (the cockatiel), perched on the picture rail, eyed the cat for about 10 minutes, then flew down and hit the poor unsuspecting moggie (which has epilepsy) at full pelt, screeching at the top of his voice!! The cat appeared to instantly levitate and then fly for about 6 or 7 feet across the room. We were in fits of laughter. Dale triumphantly flew back to a high perch, bobbing his head and squawking as if to say "I'm the man, I'm Hard!!" The cat eventually re appeared form behind the armchair, then abandoned all caution and ran at top speed into the kitchen!! Poor thing!
