Movies to make a JW THINK
by M.J. ini've heard various suggestions of movies to show a dub.. those of us with a spouse / family in the borg might find it pretty useful to rent such movies as just another way of chipping away at the indoctrination, or drawing attention to the wts control tactics.. one movie i saw which was somewhat helpful was one called "equilibrium", which was suggested on this board a while back.
its about a society that has acheived peace and order by requiring everyone to repress their emotions through sedatory drugs.
the good thing about this one was when it showed how everyone was so indoctrinated to follow the directives of the organization in charge, with every person keeping an eye on everyone else.

I don't trust the police or the justice system any , I think they are all corrupt (actually I laugh every time they talk about justice ) but I do think these murderers need to be dealt with in harsh terms .
So the justice system should be fixed first?
If you don't trust the justice system, how can you be sure that the murderers that "need to be delt with in harsh terms" are really murderers?

i haven't been to a meeting in over a year (and have no desire to go to one) - but i'm not dad or dfd.

Valid statements. I should clarify that I don't consider myself a "secular humanist"(after my JW experience, I can't imagine ever joining another group or movement), I only point it out as an alternative to people who feel religion is the sole path to being a "moral" person.
I personally think it's very possible to be a good person without an "..or else!" hanging over your head. And Secular Humanism is just one example of people trying to advance humanity without the superstitions and scare tactics of religion.

JWD Awards??
by RichieRich inso, i was thinkin, and got hit with a good idea.
everyone whos been here for more than a week has posters that they love, and posters that they loathe.
some make laugh, some make us cry, and some drive us right up the wall.... so to honor that, i think we should have some sort of jwd award session... (should simon approve).

well that's where the gladiator pay per view comes in .
Actually(in lieu of abolishing them), I'm in favor of televising executions. Since they are performed by the state, in the interest of its citizens, they should be made public.
That way, everyone can see what it is they are sanctioning. Executioners should also not be allowed to remain anonymous.
