has anyone currently heard the radio commercial from cingular that mentions every holiday known to man in their ad?
it's funnier than hell.
it's sung kinda like adam sandler's "happy hanukkah" song.

i was wondering how many famous actors, musicians, and other public figures either are jw's or became jw's at some point in their life.
eveyone knows about prince{b], and michael jackson, but i've also heard that they snagged up george benson, a former indian prime minister and rapper dres of the group the black sheep.
obviously this will be a short list since the society doesn't do much to encourge any kind of success, especially not the kind that will leave you with millions of adoring fans.
if you're a basketball fan especially a milwaukee bucks fan you will know the name dave meyers. he was one of the 4 players traded to the bucks for lew alcindor (kareem) from l.a. he & his wife became dubs in my old cong. in wisconsin. he's now an elder in temecula, ca. he also confirmed to me once his old teamate elmore smith is a dub down south. oh, and how about lou whitaker of the detroit tigers...

i am not talking about screaming at them but i know many talk of helping a person out of a cult with kindness.
has anyone really helped a cult member out with it ?
my own experience kindness has just helped me get walked all over.
i'm struggling with this very issue right now w/ my son. i have read both opinions & have had former dubs give me both opinions as well. seeing how my son is alot like me though i think the nice route is the best route until someone convinces me different.

i asked the wife today, at the district, what the reasoning was for asking the rank and file to stay in for lunch, and not purchase the lunch elsewhere.
she stated that the reason was that some venues want the witnesses to purchase lunch from their concessions.
anyone else heard this??
yeh, that was the reason i got.
"all who have taken their stand on the side of jehovah must abide in his organization under christ, if they would live.
there is no exception to this rule...the name "jehovah's witnesses" applies specifically to god's annointed ones who have been taken out of the world and made witnesses for jehovah, and these alone bear the new name.
the official organization of jehovah on earth consists of his annointed remnant, and the jonadabs who walk with the annointed are to be taught but not be leaders.
it is true we are not under the ot anymore, however, it still holds a lot of weight w/ dubs(they have turned back the clock on christianity). i believe there are still principles w/in it which can be helpful as well. recently, i brought up the scripture in deuteronomy to 2 elders. i told them i was bothered by the "predictions" which did not prove true (even as recently as the 89' wt). of course they shrugged it off. i told them it should be considered more serious than that when considering what deuteronomy had to say about "false prophets". they simply ignored me & changed the subject.
