  tonight is the night

  so i am being announced (the new way) as being df'd tonight.

  me and my ex--who wont show up so i will be there all alone.

  i am still unsure of how i feel about the whole thing.

  Susu, I would not go, but I was never a JW. If I did go, I would feel the need to speak a sentence or 2, ask if this is what Jesus, our role model, would do?? Geesh. I wish you well, sweetie, and like someone else said, make it YOUR decision, don't let the JW guilt guide you. This might be the time to show your parents that you have two feet of your own and you are going to stand on them. Then, maybe you need to figure out how to move out of the house and really be on your own. You can do it.

  this is getting on my nerves....

  Golden girl, you put it all in perspective. I am sorry for your loss! We all need to stop and smell the roses...sometimes they are even dandelions, but they are worth a whiff too! I truly hope you are doing OK on your own,

  I can never keep up...work all day, try to keep the house clean, now the yard work...ugh. I feel overwhelmed! Speaking of dishwashers, mine is only 2 yrs old and has not been cleaning as good...lots of little crummies in the cups, etc. I've tried lots of products...HELP! Any experts here? (I needed this thread, thanx!)

  whilst sat in my car at some temporary traffic lights recently i saw what looked like a co doing his bit of encouraging a young boy in the f.ministry , he had his hand on this young boys back (kinda distant for a dad) i smelt a co immediately!

  lol.

  the road was narrow, and then low and behold!

  and I keep it very close at hand in a most convenient place.

  I'm sure you would not guess it if it takes a long, long while.

  Once again, thanks for the great replies...and welcome to those new posters and lurkers. Of course, it is an individual's personality...how they will react to the board...but, you all have given me good insight. thanks so much.

  (He hasn't attended for several years but still has ties and is influenced, IMO; he is definitely lonesome and searching for his life's purpose) ...I am going to tell him not to try so hard--I think the JWs teach so much definite, " IT IS THE TRUTH " crap that his brain hasn't recuperated. This board should help

  Any more thoughts???

  Ok, I'm the motherly type. I can't help it. So, I have a young friend going thru some tough times now. Former JW, but I'm not sure he's ready to come to the board. Some posts are pretty cynical, and he's dealing w. depression but not getting any professional help that I know of.

  When you first came here, did you find it comforting...frightening...or...? Did it help you? Any lurkers who would like to offer their opinions would be welcome.

  Thanks, hope you know what I'm trying to say...I just don't want this kid hurt anymore than he has been.

  it is my grand parents 53rd anniversary today!

  very devoted jw's for about 60 years!.

  my uncle will be turning 53 this august!.

  Yeah, it used to be more common to 'hide' it. Now, many kids are attending their parent's weddings!

  My parents were wed in 1938; always told us it was 1937. My sister started looking in the bible, where I

  guess they thought they had to be truthful. She was just reading it, when she was about 12. Found out

  my mom was pg when they wed on Valentine's Day...my bro was born in August. She only told me and my

  other sister, we didn't let them know we knew! Now it is no big deal.
