The church said yesterday it would support him. But it denied claims by Porter's sister that he would continue to come into contact with children through his religion and visit families.

Senior Jehovah's Witness Michael Porter, 38, attacked boys for 14 years.
He admitted 24 charges of gross indecency and indecent assault on 13 youngsters - one only 18 months old.
But Judge Tom Crowther gave him three years' community rehabilitation after being told he had had therapy and was a changed man.
As she left Bristol crown court Porter's sister Tina Hughes said it was an insult to his victims.
She added: "I'm very angry. I can't believe the judge thinks he is safe to be allowed out on the streets. He won't stop.
"He had no right to leave the courtroom. He's not human - he's an evil monster."
She said parents trusted Porter, an Elder in the Witnesses in Portishead and Clevedon, Somerset, to babysit, take children on holiday and have sleepovers at his home.
She said: "Children loved him and parents worshipped him.
They thought he was God's son on earth. He was the last man they'd ever suspect of doing something so horrific."
Porter now lives in Finchley, North London, and is thought to be an Elder in Mill Hill.
Ms Hughes said: "They're backing him and haven't thrown him out. He'll still be in contact with children and visiting houses door to door."
Victims of Crime Trust said the sentence "gives paedophiles a licence to offend".
Labour MP Dan Norris said: "I hope the Witnesses will ensure children's safety by expelling him."
Police said they will consider an appeal. No one from the Witnesses in Clevedon or London was available.

if you have read danny hazzard's thread today about the molester in great britain who got off on multiple molestation charges i'm sure you are shocked as i am .
that being said i was very touched by reading his threads that several newbies started their first posts on that particular thread out of concern for what is happening in the witnesses view of harboring and abetting child molesters.
Good question.
I have yet to meet any JW who does not have a molestation story, either in their own family or within their congregation.
It is horrifying when you realize how system wide it is and even more horrifying is the realization that the organization cannot be led by holy spirit if it does not and cannot keep this element out of its ranks. When you realize that they are fully aware of the problem and keep letting the little ones be exposed to pedophiles you want to distance yourself far from the organization as quickly as possible because the horror of it is so great.
I hope this place and others like it give them a voice and a place to go for information and assistance.

i BAWLED at the comment about " i dont know what the afterlife will bring, but i want you in my life in this life" how many ex jw's have thought the same thing..only we rarely get the opportunity to tell our loved ones that because they wont speak to us.
what will happen on the finale? i say the greens will come after bill and family and margene will get hurt losing the baby. maybe nikki getting kicked out of her home by bill and the other wives because of her scheming with alby.. not sure.. i know i'm looking forward to next week.

i received my copy at noon today and have just now had to quit reading.
i was appalled at the lengths the wtbs has gone to protect themselves in court.
especially in their objections to handing over documentation.
my thought since getting it was just that i was astounded at the scope of the allegations.
and an impression of the watchtower bible and tract society being more interested in saving money than saving children.
it may take days, weeks, or months to sift through all 5000 pages of this valuable book/cd.

i have been inactive in service for about 4 years and attend only 3 meetings per month.
the elders pretty much leave me alone.
visit the congregation,they somehow have a little more interest in me .. who brings up my name for the visit?
it's simply because they have to fill out paperwork and make an accounting of all their members to the co.
