Hello folks. If you have read Danny Hazzard's thread today about the molester in Great Britain who got off on multiple molestation charges I'm sure you are shocked as I am . That being said I was very touched by reading his threads that several newbies started their first posts on that particular thread out of concern for what is happening in the witnesses view of harboring and abetting child molesters. I was struck by these individuals devastation over a religion they once trusted betraying them by protecting the interests of child molesters. Having been raised in it myself I know how they feel. Betrayed. One word.

I know it has been said on many threads here that this child molestation news will not affect the normal witnesses' view of their religion, and that may be true for most, however honest hearted individuals I notice are starting to be stirred to action by these injustices, even contemplating getting out of the witness organization because of the lack of attention to the problem by the leaders of the church.

Personally I know I have talked with 2 of my family members who are still in the org. about it, my mom and my older daughter. Of course with mixed results. But most of us here know the real "truth" about the sham the witnesses are, now. So, my question to you is how can we help these people who are sincerely befuddled by what is happening to their organization and learning of these atrocities being committed to make a new move in their lives to get the power and control back in their lives, without some of them feeling guilty over it, and /or displaced over it? Valid question I think. Welcome your responses. Some who were raised in this religion are really feeling devastated over this

    Good question.

I have yet to meet any JW who does not have a molestation story, either in their own family or within their congregation.

It is horrifying when you realize how system wide it is and even more horrifying is the realization that the organization cannot be led by holy spirit if it does not and cannot keep this element out of its ranks. When you realize that they are fully aware of the problem and keep letting the little ones be exposed to pedophiles you want to distance yourself far from the organization as quickly as possible because the horror of it is so great.

I hope this place and others like it give them a voice and a place to go for information and assistance.

I pmed one of the posters from Great Britain who was really depressed over the molester in the news over there. Tried to encourage her. For some of the witnesses who have not heard of these molestation accusations, it is stirring them to action not to go to meetings anymore. Hope it does that to more of them! Peace out, Mr. Flipper, how else can we be there for those who will listen?
