court cases revive childbirth rights debate.
i saw this article and it got me to thinking.. which can be dangerous at times.
but, this is a situation that would affect women and families terribly.
It's all about control by the medical community. My daughter HAS to deliver by c-section...due to an accident a few years ago. However, after the last baby, she signed herself out of the hospital AMA after 48 hours. They were more than interventionist. Kept doing blood sugar levels on the baby because she was allegedly "large for gestational age"...8lbs 9oz full-term baby girl. Gimme a fricken break...They were NOT supportive of my daughter's choice to breastfeed. She finally kicked the so-called "lactation consultant" out of the room telling them "my mother nursed the 3 of us and she damn sure knows what she's doing"...(let's hear it for good old mom). The LC was PISSED as hell.
My first birth...pitocin, internal monitoring...second and third...nope. My longest labor was 3 and a half hours...by the time I got to the third baby, just over an hour and a half (don't hate me, please???). IF I had had more babies, they would have been born at home, probably unattended...I despised the thought of paying thru the nose for some "doctor" to come catch the baby after I had done all the work.
Birth has been medicalized...no more "baby will come when baby is ready"...and the harm that's being done to mothers and babies is UNREAL. Don't get me wrong...medical intervention in pregnancy has saved many moms and babies, but for a routine, low risk pregnancy and birth, it really isn't needed.
TB of the "crunchy" birth crowd.
i asked my husband for a divorce yesterday.
after he threw a plate full of food and a cup of coffee it went pretty well, especially after he left, but came back four hrs.

sincere pardons if this is posted here elsewhere and previously.. i received a copy of "jehovah in the new testament" from www.tetragrammaton.org.. the booklet's argument is that whereas "yahweh" or "jehovah" belongs in the old testament, because it is clearly there in the ancient texts, it does not belong in the new testament.. because there is not one ancient greek new testament manuscript that has "jehovah" in the text, only "lord.".
this is so obvious and irrefutable that it is silly for the new world translation to continue on with this theological mistake.
besides, in many passages where "jehovah" appears in the nwt new testament, it is simply jarring, out of place, and/or misleading.. actually, use of "jehovah" in the new testament distorts the meaning of the words of the apostles, and confuses the fact that "men ought to honor the son as they do the father.
"They argue that Jesus always honoured God in speech. Well that may be so in places, but mans obligation as a Christian is to honour Jesus before God. Well, that's the way I read it."
Uh...what about the part about "he who honors the Son, honors the Father"??? They've reduced Christ to a lesser god (small "g"). Doesn't that make them polytheists rather than monotheists?
Just something I've wondered about and haven't ever been able to get a straight answer.

What's up with a religion that has to remind it's adherents to be "kind"? Although, I have yet to see "kindness" from my husband's X and kids who purport to be such "great Christians" and think they're so superior to us unwashed Baptist types...all I've ever seen has been rudeness, greed, nastiness, sarcasm and lies. Oh well...so glad I didn't "bite" those years ago.
TB...who's shaking her head at this

This sounds like propaganda to me. The "end" of the USA has been proclaimed over and over...and it ain't happened yet.
That said...do I think that maybe some areas of our economy will crash...probably. Housing prices are bound to start declining as interest rates start rising again. The rest, I don't know. I'll wait and see.
