Today was my D-Day ... I beat the odds!

last year on july 15th, 2002, my cardiologist gave me less than a year to live.

with the 14 remaining blocked arteries, there was not much hope.

even a by-pass would only correct 3 or 4 arteries and give me a slight lease on life.

4 BILLION A MONTH!!!! What a worthless waste!

this pisses me off so badly.

here i am, struggling just to survive and pay my bills, and they're wasting money on this worthless occupation.

i have trouble buying my bread, i'm thinking of getting a pizza delivery job at night, and i'm a working professional who already leaves at 6 and gets home at 6, and they're spending four billion dollars on this.

Ashikita: No MATTER how you feel, this was a VERY disrespectful thing to say.

How is that disrespectful? Georgie, through lies and innuendo, misled his armed forces and the nation into taking over a country. Some of our boys are writing to congress complaining that they should be home now, because they were told that this was going to be a liberation, not an occupation.

Georgie needlessly sent those boys over there. That's what waste is. Spending money, emotion, lives, on things that didn't require it. That's the definition of waste.

it wasn' so long ago that i found out about the genealogy of america's past and present leaders.

genealogical sources, like the new england historical genealogical society and burkes peerage, have shown that 34 of the 43 presidents to g.w.

bush are related to charlemagne and 19 are related to england's edward iii.. the bush-windsor bloodline easily goes back to alexander the great, and beyond as far as ramesses ii.. .

I'm a mutt, but my wife is related to the Kennedy's (her fam even looks like them), her great-great-great something aunt or grandmother was Betsy Ross.

My fam came from poland when Hitler Invaded. No big lineage.

Tell that to the American soldiers over there now...their families...and those of the soldiers that have given the last full measure of devotion.

George W wasted those young men's lives. He took his own ambition and put it above the love for his own people. He says, "Bring it on," taunting the enemy, and they're growing bolder and killing more of our boys. It's all a waste.....the money is just one part of it.

If that four billion was distributed among a string of communities in the deep south, or in the slums of citys, or in the old steel/coal mining towns of the midwest, then maybe a few extra kids would have the things they need to not only get a good education, but be able to have some privilidges that their more weathly counterparts enjoy on a regular basis. This is what's known as a long-term investment. Preventing those kids from becoming criminals or degenerates, giving them hope that they too can go to a university and explore their potential. 4 Billion. If that four billion was given to kids for college, accepting that college would be around 100,000 for four years on campus, then 40,000 underprivilidged kids could go to university. 40,000. After just one month of not wasting money in just one country we have our boys in. Amazing.

George W, will all of his wonderful liberation, has forgotten about the little guy. That's why our boys will stay in Iraq, and keep dying, not just because of a stubborn enemy, but because of a stubborn President, unwilling to admit his wrongs, taunting the enemy into attacking.

What did you learn as a JW?

with 5 meetings a week plus field service, and additional reading of the bible and watchtower literature, what did you learn after all these years in the jw organization?

did we need all those meetings and time and effort just to know some simple details?

I learned how to manipulate people. It's not really that hard. Kinda like being a used car salesman.

I don't do that myself, though.

A weekend of bitter and unhappy apostasy......

this is district convention weekend in my area.

now, i know that in the good old days, i would get up early, drive to hamilton (an unpleasant place), sit all day on an uncomfortable plastic chair with no legroom and listen to the usual boring tripe regurgitated from last year, with only a short break to eat dull sandwiches.

then i'd drive all the way home, tired and cranky and hungry, eat something and go to bed, knowing that i would get to repeat the whole sordid process the next day!

I'll tell you what he's to do! Yesterday I ordered $50 worth of pizza and wings which will last me the entire weekend. There is beer in the fridge, and new releases from Blockbuster next to the TV. Probably the most strenous thing I will do today is step outside the front door to admire my roses.

Ahhhh. Now, that's the sort of life I like.

We had some nonJW/exJW friends come over last night, and it was great. No hangups, no talking about bad times, just having fun with normal people.

Now, it's morning, I slept through the hangover, and I had a nice cup of tea while watching a documentary on the civil war. Life is good.
