Restrangled, YES! In this town the question would be, "have you ever had a GOOD haircut?" You have my complete empathy.

Have you ever had a really bad haircut? (rant)
by restrangled inwent to a salon today with picture in hand.
i spent 2/1/2 hours suffering in the chair, (foiling and cut).
i wound up with about 6 to 7 inches lopped off and came out looking like a big haired, bubble headed 80's special.

Has Matt 24:14 been fulfilled?
by Gratitude inhas anyone else heard (or have i been playing ostrich) that the door to door work is no longer necessary????
the follow up to that was it's not true.
but, it was part of a talk at a 1 day assembly.

Welcome to the board, Gratitude.
There were a couple of threads on that talk at the time it happened. I think there's even a recording of the talk itself. (I didn't listen because I have a very slow connection) Maybe some kind person will find and post the links here for you. I personally don't have a clue on how to do it.

One more newbie, yeiks!
by wings inmy story as a witness follows much of a 'dumb and dumber' sort of path.
i get to be both dumb, and dumber, of course.
what drove me to post on this site was sheer despiration.

We use "Olivier" soap, handmade in Canada (New Brunswick). I just order online and it's here quite quickly. Recently we've found someone local who makes great goat milk soap.

Congratulations! Age isn't what makes a marriage work. Compatablility and a lot of work does. I was 19 when I got married.

Strange announcement about "donations" at the S.A.D.
by Doubting Bro inat a recent s.a.d.
i attended, something caught my attention during the accounts report about how to make donations by check.
in the past, they have always instructed persons who want to donate by check to make that check payable to watchtower (if i recall, they even told you to capitalize the t).

I've been out of the loop a long time too, but I think S.A.D. means Special Assembly Day.

Allow me to introduce myself
by RollerDave ini was raised among the witnesses and left in my early 30's due to a mixture of doctrinal disputes and social isolation.
my mother and both of my sisters remain within the organization.
i also have two brothers, one df'd, one who never quite caught the watchtower bug.. my road within the organization was a rocky one that eventually lead to a place where i found myself socially isolated within the congregation as a person simply unfit for fellowship with proper, upright, theocratic people who must cut off all 'worldy' association, suffer the ensueing isolation, and eat humble pie until such a time as they determined i was 'spiritual minded' enough for them to associate with.. baptism was held up as my expected goal, but despite trying, i was never quite good enough for them.
