at the end of the last part, my parents had just arrived back from the tuesday night meeting after the theocratic ministry school with the elders.

its quite amazing that i still remember the names of all the various meetings so clearly, considering that im writing this 4 years after my disassociation.

Your point about ommisions is so true.

We started studying in 1981 and asked about the 1975 issue and yes it was brushed over with words to the effect that it was just a few who thought the end would come that year, and off course we had no way of finding out the truth then.

Thank goodness for the power of the internet.

I am so pleased that others in your family also seem to be extracating themselves from this high control group.

All we can do now is try and spread the truth about the WTBTS whenever and where ever we can so that their power to control and destroy lives will be minimised.

A home for KM scans

i was searching for a site that hosted kingdom ministry scans but to no avail.

does anyone know of such a site?.

if not, i am willing to scan kingdom ministries as they come (i also have a backlog of several years worth) if anyone is willing to put them on a website?.

DID AN ELDER EVER HELP YOU?

there are so many horror stories about elders.

many people dislike or can't stand elders, in general.

a number here have been truly hurt by some.

There are good and bad elders.

Unfortunately the good and kind ones are in the minority and most of them end up resigning due to the the pressure of going against the WTBTS official tide.

Soon there wont be any kind elders left just society men.

he was so encouraging to me when i first came into this room.

Just like to add the same. I couldnt believe at first that here were people writing about the same things that we felt and experienced. You just know that these posters are genuine.

Can I also say a BIG THANKYOU to Simon and Angharad for allowing us to meet in their sitting room -so's to speak-we are quite some group.

Still at least they dont have to get the extra chairs out for us lol.

Owe You All An Apology

there was a longish post here yesterday, i think it was, or maybe the day before that outlined a pretty comprehensive summary of all the dos and don'ts and associated acceptable usages for this site.. i realized to my horror that there's one in particular that i fear i violate all the time and i'd like to briefly address it.. one of the "don'ts" was all about starting a thread, or - by extension - participating in a thread, and then not going back there to respond to others who have taken the time to remark upon what you've had to say.. i'm afraid i'm guilty of that; and guilty a lot.. i'd like to offer the following in defense of my former bad: as many of you know, about four years ago, i sustained a very serious injury and damn near died.

it was a close thing there for about a week as to whether or not i'd be pushing up daisies.

anyway, to make a long story miserable, i've been on a fairly whopping daily maintenance dose of a particularly powerful narcotic.
