Hi Min
Like Frans experience I can remember a very loyal elderly sister challenging the BS elder. She was right but still had to apologise publicly to the elder for daring to say anything.

some comments here, suggest regret---that you were afraid of these simple men.
have you ever told an elder off?
what was the result?

last night i went with a friend to a bible study promoted by his non-denominational church.. from time to time, some of the church will get together for a few weeks in someones home and have a study.
this one was six weeks long, and certainly was not manditory.. i entered the home, and instantly had flashbacks to book studies.
chairs were set out, but there was joy in the air.
If I could find a group that was like this one I might be tempted to investigate BUT
Sorry to be cynical but would the free style remain once you where committed?
What happens if you disagree about a fundamental teaching or belief of the group?
How would you be viewed if you didnt want to go to every meeting every week for ever and ever?
I didnt realise the Alpha course where international. I have seen their posters up locally here in the UK.

i just finished a 'historical novel' titled "confessions of a pagan nun", by kate horsley.
this is a story about a woman who grew up in ireland during the late 5th and early 6th century, at the time when christianity was beginning to displace the older pagan customs.
the story tells how gwynneve is raised according to the beliefs of her ancestors, and the conflicts she experiences as she gradually comes into contact with those claiming to represent the christian faith.
What a studious lot you are.
Sorry I need to escape into fiction at the end of the day and have just finished reading a John Mortimer-Titmuss Regained.
Very funny

i watch families crowding around a loved one in hospital whom i'm taking care of who die......sometimes they're old, but that doesn't diminish their pain, still the hurt is palpable.
sometimes they are young, this increases their pain and ours even more.
a death occurs, we feel hopeless, they are distraught beyond belief..... what to say?
Hallo SS
I am sorry you are feeling so low at the moment.
Working in the environment that you do you are very aware that it will pass and you will move on, its the time inbetween that hurts.
For the very reasons you cited I cannot believe in a loving creator. I guess we all have our own emotional baggage thats brings us to such conclusions.
Maybe time and circumstances will change our views who knows.
The only thing we are sure about is today.
Thankyou for the work you do in (I assume) the NHS. The support of people who care really does help and make a differance.

my wife had a long drive home from north yorkshire with her younger brother (who is a dub) last night.
she was asking him questions about his social life and was very surprised at his response.
apparently, each week in london some brothers organize raves in various hired nightclubs.
I can remember a talk about these raves at a CA at Hayesbridge a few years ago. They specifically mentioned that it was around the M25 area.
We had never heard anything about them but assumed that we where too far from the London congs to be involved and that it was a general "get at the youngsters for having a bit of fun" talk.
Are they really on such a large scale?

before she can though she needs my dad to admit to adultary.
they've been divorced for years but he has never remarried and has no plans too.. she says she's in love with a widowed brother but before they go any further she wants to be scriptually free.
she called my dad and asked him if he would help her out and he laughed and hung up the phone.
If she carries a blood card and is willing to die by their rules then let her live by them and stay in marital limbo.

Hallo everyone.
I have PM'd you all.
This is fun.
Simple Sally I wonder if someone could put a list together and email it to us, that way we don't have to pm everyone we want to send a card to?
I dont mind doing a list if people would prefer it.
