Hi MBJ
The holiday camp assemblies were the best.
Ours was at Camber.
Know the name Albert Broad but he was our CO just before we came in in the early 80's.
As others have said some of the rules seem to be fairly local or the whims and fads of current CO's and DO's.
I remember one CO who said keep going back on all calls for as long as it takes and no matter how small the interest shown, and the very next CO has everyone "clearing the deadwood" out of their RV book.
The reg pios hated the latter obviously. -

Here in the UK we had the 'no coloured shirts' one, although that seems to have died a death.
After that the fashion for ties changed and brothers wearing ones that were too bright or colourful were counseled.
Sisters mustnt wear culottes.
Must fill the seats in the KH from the front with no sitting in the back row unless you had a young child.
At one recent CA they had roped off both sides of the top tiers so everyone was crammed into the centre part just to make us think the place was full.
The use of the library was changed so that it was only for reference you couldnt take a book out of the hall to read.
All cleaning overseen by brothers most of whom wouldnt what to do with a mop or vaccuum cleaner.
Just a few things I could quickly think of. -

Qwerty,
Where did this information come from??
If it is legitimately from one of the society's publications, then I can use it in a very current legal dispute involving a child.
Please let me know.

Does this mean that all mature Christians should now carry Anti-Nasal Hair Coiffeur Directives? This would ensure that all Christians would be able to go about their daily lives with peace of mind, knowing that if such a medical emergency arose, the medical profession would respect their wishes.
The cards could be issued every year following a talk given by an exemplary qualified brother with flowing nasal locks. Only very mature sisters (usually mother in laws) would fit the criteria to display such fine Christian qualities, and could therefore qualify for a card.
If there are unbaptized interested ones, who wish to follow the spirit of Jehovah's direction, they may wish to duplicate the wording on the Anti-Nasal Hair Coiffeur Directive, which they can carry on their person at all times.
Mature brothers could be used to serve on an appropriate HLC (Hair Liberation Committee), to ensure that when brothers and sisters are feeling spiritually weak in a traumatic situation, the HLC can be a refuge and spiritual stronghold for them. The HLC will only be contactable through the local body of elders.
We are sure that Jehovah will pour out his blessing on such an arrangement.

Known of 2 molestors in local area.
One was only revealed after he committed suicide, so how many he affected was never known officially and the other was a word of mouth warning to be careful with your children around him, but he was in another cong and I didnt know him personally, and I dont know what happened to him, we were new in org at the time and not privy to such info. -

Please Respond To Survey! 25 more needed please.
by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.

I came into it from d2d in the early 80's. Then other half was inveigled in by 'friendly' elders and we aventually bought up our 3 children in it.
We are all out now.
