Blood Transfusions & Flood, Questions from Bible student only

i was never a jdubb, only a bible student.

there are two main questions i have.

let me preface that by saying that i do not believe the bible is true, or the word of god.

My understanding is that the Jewish Rabbis who wrote the OT

Rabbis wrote the Mishnah and the Gemara not the OT.

The JW believe that the law covenant did not apply to Gentiles and further the same Mosaic law was abolished by the death of Jesus except the Noachide law pertaining to blood which preceded the law of Moses as stated in the Chumash. According to the “NT” command “Keep abstaining from blood,” JW believe this to mean that blood transfusions, eating blood or using some blood products such as those containing whole blood are forbidden. TD made an interesting rebuttal based on Pekuah Nephesh and God’s Law to Israel referring to the Torah: “ That you may LIVE by them. But this does not invalidate the command to Christians that they should abstain from blood as JW see it. According to today’s Pharisaic Judaism, any command can be broken to save a life except for murder, idolatry and adultery. JW believe that none of God’s commands can be broken including the one on blood as it applies to Christians even to “save a life”. TD argued that Jesus pointed to king David when he and his men ate the loaves of presentation which was not lawful to show his disciples did not sin by picking grain on the Sabbath. However, Jesus never said that this applied to making an allowance for Christians eating blood. Nor is it logical to conclude that.

Also, Karaite Jews reject the Talmudic interpretation of the OT as inspired or as the oral law. For example, they eat meat and dairy together.

watchtower 1974 p.167 "by disobediently over indulging in food and making a glutton of himself he shows no love for jehovah..in the presents of others does he ignore their needs and selfishly take more then his fair share?

is he grossly overweight gorging himself?

does he feel uncomfortable even getting sick...this person has no place in the congregation of god...they will not inherit gods kingdom.".

Seems to me that food was not easy to get in Bible times and if you greedily ate too much meant somebody else was affected —like if you greedily ate somebody else’s share of the food. I can see someone getting DF today under those set of circumstances —but when there is plenty of food for everybody around you, that ain’t gluttony.

there has been comments in the news recently that the war in ukraine could be the beginning to the world war three.. i would not be surprised if it is.

the bible says a time will come when the peace will be taken from the earth.. revelation 6:4 another came out, a fiery-colored horse, and it was granted to the one seated on it to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword.. have you heard what possibly this war in ukraine could lead to?.

So why didn't Jehovah/ GB/ watchtower warn the brothers in Ukraine to get out before before the war started?

if that had occured wouldn't that have given us confidence and faith for when the big one comes?

The WT does not have the evidence to anoint or endorse itself. That proof can only come directly from God to convince a person. So, the person would need to pray to God and not to the WT. And God should provide the evidence whether or not to trust the org. Once that trust had been established, WT appeals to the evidence from God-when in doubt- that has convinced the followers to have faith in the directions given by the leaders based on that evidence that has unequivocally established the trust. What WT is saying, even if it doesn’t make sense, remember the evidence. Trust the instrument’s attitude not yours. It is a personal decision and conclusion what each person chooses.

Armageddon is history. There is no future Armageddon

I don’t believe that, Van. I believe in ultimate justice and I’m convinced that Armageddon and the kingdom of God will do that

Why did Clinton keep Putin from joining NATO in 1990.

I think because he figured that Palestine would not support the state of Israel to Palestine’s demise.

Not too late, Palestine can still join Israeli forces and attack itself and other moslem forces. If that makes any sense like an oxymoron.

Nowhere in the Bible does the KON refer to Russia and more importantly nowhere in the bible is America referred to the KOS

I agree but in the metallic image, the prophecy does not assign it a value either but it has one and so does KON KOS—whatever that value is.

The destruction of Jerusalem as described in the 3 Gospels 2000 years ago is not superstitious nonsense. Also, because the Bible record of history is accurate and the candid portrayal of its actors , that supports that the rest of it can be true also. So, true, I’ve said that assigning values to un-named things is guessing but even if the guesses are wrong it doesn’t debunk the Bible as nonsense or that other values satisfy the meaning: For example, the disgusting thing that causes desolation and the identity of Judas Iscariot in prophecy.

in the current situation, it’s worth listening to this podcast about nuclear near misses.

the cuban missile crisis was only one example, but is worth considering.

in 1962 the united states and russia went eyeball to eyeball over russia’s military base in cuba.

In the US, the media made it seem that Nikita backed away because of JFK’s threat. —But it was the US who had to agree never to invade cuba and demilitarize Turkey. Fidel got his revenge for being belittled when he came to the US after overthrowing the Cuban government but paid the expensive price of the devastating Cuban ban. Cuba never recovering economically till this day.

I’m just guessing but it seems that Russia intends to subjugate Ukraine and won’t accept defeat.
