  What is Your purpose/point for being here?

  i get asked that question alot, some even ask what exactly my purpose is!

  i can live with it.. if i had to answer my own question, i'd have to say it broken down into a number of points.

  a. i like to see what the latest stuff is happening on the "apostate" side.. b. i like to watch the politics of this group.

  At first...extreme curiosity. Just where DID all those JW's go, when they "Fell away from the Truth."?

  I heard this once: Have you personally ever SEEN a baby pidgeon...? I haven't & don't know anyone who has... But, you knew they have to be somewhere...???

  When JW's leave or are DF/DA you never really know...where they go...what happened? They had to be somewhere, I was lucky enough to find a good bunch of them.

  I needed the help and re-enforcement I found here. I am fading and being shunned for marrying a non-witness, DA/DF is likely down the road. If I can encourage one newbie or lurker here to make their own decisions, in the face of pressure from the WTS, I'll be happy for them.

  My bug lovin, animal huggin' Canuck gurl...I wish I was there up in the frozen tundra, y'all call home. My wife says I can give ya' a big hug and kiss.

  I do hope your surgery went good and you are recovering well. My back surgery went well, I just walked one mile in PT today.

  Everybody's a smart ass...lol Yes, everything from lobsters (as long as they were unleavened) to Gyros to strawberry margaritas...all count. Except rabbits... Shotgun, they are not kosher and are really full of shity gas. pee-uuuw!

  one of the very real dangers that we face today is the population explosion.

  i read that the world's population "now" doubles about every 40 years,

  this explosive rate is like cancer,, that no longer follows the proper cell multiplication arrangement in the body and threatens the life of the organism.

  Little Toe mentioned "Carr's Water Crackers" he buys in Scotland...unbelievably I found them here in Texas at the local "Wal-Mart"!

  I've 'missed' four Memorials already, but decided after reading so many threads here about doing it at home...I thought,"Why not?" It was a little weird, but very satisfying. I haven't prayed with anyone in 7 - 8 years. I said the prayer over the bread, she over the wine. We both partook...it was the most natural feeling I've ever had at a 'Memorial'. My wife and I were equals, both saying prayers. Jesus wanted his disciples to participate in this ritual rememberance...so we did.

  Someone on another thread rightly pointed out...15 - 16 million people show up at Kingdom Halls each year, all dressed up...to 'reject' the Lord's Evening Meal. I chose not to after 35 years of doing it wrong.

  i have been feeling nervous all day.

  my hubby has been out doing yardwork, so we hadn't talked too much.

  finally we talked.

  We (my new wife--non-jw) celebrated at home. Little Toe mentioned "Carr's Water Crackers" he buys in Scotland...unbelievably I found them here in Texas at the local "Wal-Mart"!

  I've 'missed' four Memorials already, but decided after reading so many threads here about doing it at home...I thought,"Why not?" It was a little weird, but very satisfying.   Back from the Memorial......Special Announcement at the end....

  the special announcement read at the end was an invite for any interested ones (tm) to ask if they wanted a bible study.....and that a special meeting will be held next sunday in all the congregations worldwide, and an invite was given for all to attend.

  i loved going and was good to see all the brothers and sisters again, the po who gave the talk made a bee line for me straight after the closing prayer, straight off the platform (i had to stand as there were no seats) and asked to speak to me, and directed me to the back of the hall, i thought here we go......jc convening shortly......but no he said the wt society in london had contacted him as i'd wrote them asking for the magazines, and he would be happy to drop by and had done, but never found me at home.

  so we arranged a date for him to call next week.. the hall was packed, and from my standing point i had plenty of opportunity to have a scan about, despite being horrified that their were brothers there who were betting looking than even me ( in my newly bought outfit!

  Like Wednesday, I am celebrating the 'Memorial' at home. This is my first time in 4 years and I look forward to 'partaking' of the wine and bread along with my new non-jw wife.

  Like Frankie tho, I would not enjoy 'celebrating' anything under the umbrella of WTS Org. They have broken & separated my family from me for getting remarried. I am not yet DF/DA but, it is inevitable...once it's official. It'll be forever.

  I would never look down my nose at anyone who chooses differently, after all...I'm not a witness anymore.
