I'm still trying to work through some of the guilt issues over failing to succeed at marriage. Hopefully what they say about time healing will prove true...

I am so sorry you are going thru this misery, I had no idea.

When I read that sentence above...tears shot out of my eyes...surprised me. Damn, "guilt issues over failing to succeed at marriage" that was a real heavy for me, too. I had been married 20 years and was SO-O-O deeply in love with my JW wife...it took 4 years of unbelievable carnage, on her part, before in finally murdered any Love I had for her. She lied and drove my 3 daughters away...

I felt as tho' nothing was left inside. I stopped going to meetings...then the family shunning started, too.

However, I have since found someone else...a wonderful woman, who loves me back. We married 6 months ago. The other part about "time healing" things...well, it won't heal some things, but it does help. I can say from experience now...that hole you have in your heart can be filled in with another Love. You can be whole again. You strike me as a kind of man it will happen to. So...give it some time...

I am really glad this thread was brought back, I am so new...I have no idea how many of you 'arrived', I like to know what makes people 'tic'. I would have loved to been there at that meeting...and after -- to see the reaction. Later, Oh...to be a 'fly' on the wall in that next Elders meeting...whew! Can you say...d a m a g e control...?

Question to shunned persons

hello everyone,.

if your jehovah's witness relatves came to you and said..... "praise jah, there has been 'new light" and we can associate with you again!".....

what would you say or do?

My Gut reaction would be...good, finally, hoo-ray. Love and kisses xoxoxoxo. I really miss people...

But, then as someone else said...things would NEVER be good and happy like it was. They probably would still feel as tho' they did no wrong to me. "They were just following orders..." Waiting for that s l o w light....

I would expect an apology...that would never come.

What about the dead...suicides, wrecked lives and families...?

How would a person feel...if a loved one died, because the WTS said transplants were a forbidden sin, then the next day a magazine comes out ( I believe it was an Awake! in `85 or `86 ) and says -- it's a conscience matter !!

I guess I don't really know how I would feel...not shunned, huh?

Farkel V Minimus - Lets talk

just recently the forum has seen some posts relating to these two prominent members of the forum.

we have the thread about farkel being a genius, and the thread where farkel and minimus have a bit of a "shebang" (that's nw england talk - excuse me).. the thing is, i honestly think that both of these people are becoming a little bit too enthralled with their own importance.. farkel's "concerned about minimus" thread was a deliberate jibe at minimus, and minimus clearly is p**sed off with farkel's comments.. overall i think that farkel has outstanding talent and intelligence, however he is harsh and obviously has some personal problems (as do i, and many of us).

minimus is a great contributor to the forum, but he appears shallow and sycophantic.. lets get the whole issue out of the way.

reading through some of the recent posts, ie; the topic of lazarus and the gay issue, i was flabbergasted at what i was reading.

i can't believe-well maybe i can, that some people on this site are calling gay people "faggots", and telling that person that they are going to get "what sodom and gomorrah got".. this site has been a godsend to me, and have been telling my friends how nice it is to be in with a group of people who can relate to my life, my feelings, my insecurities, and my fears relating to the org.

and not being a part of it anymore.

You have a good sense of humor, too. That is always welcome. Your one-liners on my "New word Game" thread keep me laughing. I don't care what your sexuality is, but there a few old knotheads here, that bring with them the prejudices, most of us have left behind. I can count on one hand the posters that have this problem, maybe there's hope for them to "live and let live." They don't have to agree with anyones lifestyle, just accept it as 'good for them' not me.

As you see when someone unfairly attacks like this...a lot of us will step up and say, "Not Here !"

Glad ya' found us...come down to the ChiliFest in May, meet us and get welcomed proper like.
