  A troll is someone who secretly supports the WT agenda at all costs.

  The term troll is used on all NGs to denote someone stirring up trouble. On this board the term "troll" is usually used to discredit an opposing opinion. However, an opposing opinion does not make a person a troll. You accuse of supporting the WT agenda at all costs, however some of the posters with opposing opinions to yours are definitely not Pro-WT. Please be careful that you are not doing the opposite...supporting the anti-WT agenda at all costs.

  When someone or a collective group together challenge minor details while overlooking the major proof at hand, they reveal themselves.

  I don't consider accusing ANY group of people that they are harboring over 23,000 child molesters a "minor detail." I consider that a serious allegation and would want to know the facts before I believe it. Being told that it came from a friend from a friend does not fly. Even if you have a heaping mound of other evidence, using unfounded facts to increase that mound only spoils it.

  Carefully placed wording to imply wt is basically doing the best they can and then demanding proof in totality before any statement can be believed. Does that sound familiar?

  Yes. It sounds like the United States Judicial System.

  WT POLICY SUCKS!

  For those of you who wish to defend it you need to educate yourself about it. Read my website and when you come to a real education on this topic then if you are not a troll you will stop acting like one.

  I have read your website, despite it being difficult to follow because of the way it is organized (a little customer feedback for you.) It seems to me that despite past policies, current policy has the elders contact the legal department. Once they are verified that they are a legitimate elder and it is a legitimate accusation, then they are told to inform the authorities. I'm not sure what else I could expect from the WT policy wise.

  This thread is ridiculous!!!!

  This number is complete hearsay. Just because something is possible does not make it true. Suppose I tell you all how I have 10 inside sources that have actually confirmed that half of all JWs are child molesters, and the info cam straight from the WT database! It wouldn't mean jack!!!!

  And Amazing, I appreciate many of your posts, but you must see the problems in the poll that you conducted and attempted to use to substantiate this claim...you had 21 responses that knew 433 victims?!?!?! They knew of these victims firsthand???? I seriously doubt that.

  It is obvious that some have a complete agenda against the WT when they will take a completely unfounded number and agree with it and verbally masturbate the whole topic. It reminds me of the old sisters in my hall that nod exaggeratingly at every stupid thing that comes out of the speakers mouth, just so every one else can see they are in agreement.

  Acting stupid killed this kid, no matter how you look at it.

  That's ridiculous! That's like blaming the person who gave him the last cup of water he drank that made him have to go pee which caused him to go to the outside toilets which somehow lead to his death!

  You're right, they acted stupid. But I would be hard pressed to fault them as I have acted much stupider in many situations. If you are above this level of reproach then continue faulting them and even blame them for the indirect cause of this child's death. They probably don't feel bad enough right now anyway.

  So, you're basically saying that Jehovah only directs his faithful and discreet slave to make changes when it is "politically correct" to do so.

  My post said nothing about Jehovah directing the faithful and discreet slave. I was simply reemphasizing Waiting's post about "beating kids" being a more universal problem.

  What about the simple human trait (that requires no God to reveal it) that beating children is barbaric? Why couldn't those idiotic WT leaders even figure out something that is so obvious?

  The same reason why so many other humans throughout history have used physical discipline in raising children and not seen it as a barbaric trait.

  What a bunch of sicko's to do this type of thing and then sluff it off as "guys will be guys". Bullshit.

  Do what type of thing? Go camping and act like idiots? They should be blamed for the boys death because one kid wore a bra, another was photographed taking a piss, and another farted in someone's general direction? Granted, they acted stupid and it was even more stupid to not reveal these bits to the authorities, but if you read the article you will see that even the boy's brother didn't think to report these happenings. It seems obvious that they are not evidence of any "foul play."

  I have no interest in defending these yahoos but think it silly to go overboard about some dumb guys acting like dumb guys.

  I stand corrected. I was able to find some WT articles in the 80's that don't promote spanking, but say that it may be necessary. All of the articles did emphasize that the most important thing was to direct the child and give them guidance with balanced discipline. I do still see it as a universal and generational problem though. I think the people in this thread who have their special beating sticks, rods, etc, would beat their children regardless of their religion.

  I appreciate Waitings posts about Child Abuse being a universal and even generational problem as opposed to a JW problem. I firmly agree with this.
  Farkel posted a number of WT articles condoning spanking, but they were all from the 50's, when spanking was a more commonly accepted form of punishment. I think you would be hard pressed to find references in the more politically correct modern day WT. In fact, growing up in the truth, all I remember being taught from the platform was that we should be balanced in our discipline and that the "rod of discipline" was similar to the rod a shepherd uses as opposed to a beating rod.
  In fact, in our hall there was a pretty simple minded brother who used to spank his child very frequently, so the brothers counceled him against doing this.
  My father spanking me had nothing to do with being a JW, it had to do with the fact that he came from a family where if you stepped out of line you got punched in the face (a Catholic family nonetheless.)

  It doesn't sound all that wild to me. I guess I don't see the connection between these pranks and this boy's death. The newspaper article doesn't make one (as is usual since most newspaper articles will through in anything slightly related that might help sensationalize things.)
  My friends and Iwere walking home from a local bar the other night, one stops to take a piss in the bushes, another had a camera so, of course, we took incriminating photos as a joke so we could put them on his fridge right before he invites people over. Kinky? I don't think so. Funny? Maybe just to us.
  And as far as camping trips, I've heard of worse than putting women's underwear in someone's bag and then wearing it as a joke. I think trying to link that to this boy's death is a stretch, unless there is further corroborating evidence not included in the article.

  I had posted what I understood from the military stock bit. Your first reply was a harmless opinion, but your second went off accusing me of "rearranginr words and sugarcoating" and being "not the least bit concerned about "investigating" or "assuming" ANYTHING about the WTS unless, of course, it concerns something that you want to denounce the board about......"
  That was completely from left field!
