iono, if i don't go to meeting i'll try to sleep, but my urge to sleep has went for my situation right now. so i'll probably end up just reading more about the JWs and working on educating poor, defenseless JW's....

What are you doing this Sunday if not going to the kingdom hall?????????
by BLISSISIGNORANCE ini went out with girl-friends last night so i slept in this morning.
had breakfast with hubby as the kids are out and about, and read the paper.. i will potter around home a bit and tidy up, then hubby and i will go to do a bit of shopping and throw some wts cardboard cases into the recycling depot.. later on this afternoon we are meeting some friends down at the lake to watch an open air screening of tropfest which is a competition to find the best short film, made by unknown film makers in australia.
some music, wine and fine food...........should be great.. then home to get ready for the next week of work........... and not one second regretting my choices!.

Are you *really* into something?
by DanTheMan ingetting to know various personalities on this board, i get to feeling that a missing component in my life is to get *really* into something.. for instance, the board has our resident intellectuals and political debaters.
i am in awe of the broad scope of knowledge and seemingly instant recall of obscure facts that many on this board seem to have.
i consider myself to be fairly intelligent, but i am light years from being a true intellectual.

The Preaching Work: A Colossal Waste of Time

many people who post here have had similar experiences to my own: x number of years going door-to-door, informal witnessing, placing books, magazines, doing return visits, but having no one ever come into the truth?
by virtue of their efforts.. members of my own family who are still jws similarly have nothing to show for their trouble of regularly engaging in the ministry over many years (decades, actually).. any guesstimates out there as to how much of your life you wasted participating in the preaching work?

heh, my g/f has went out in service for YEARS and YEARS. guess how many converts. first one to guess ZERO gets a beer...
but seriously. when i went to the kingdom hall a few years ago, then went back this past fall, i seriously seen no NEW converts. i seen people that moved congregations, but nobody new. i remember seeing one kid there for one night. then i also remember a guy who wasn't all there (he couldn't find books in the bible and such) and i was THE ONLY person to help him find his way through the bible. i kinda feel i did my good deed for doing that. nobody else would offer to help him find his way, and when i did he was almost in tears. i felt sorry for the guy
but in the meantime, field service is just a lot of wasted time anymore. i think they changed it from getting new potential converts to just "preaching the name of

special K has it more right w/ the beer. i'm not breaking up, or doing anything like that. expressing and pure love is about all i can do. lets just say she said she believes that its Jehovah's organization, and if you reject it, that you are rejecting jehovah. so lets just say i'm good enough with my words, i wrote a note and i'm gonna see how it goes tonite. in any case, its pretty much all or nothing. i'm breaking the ice on the Jehovah's Witness movement towards a person that i dearly care about...

you wanna know somethin funny. i'll give you an inside tip....the heavens closed 2 other times before that =D....i forgot the exact dates, but 1935 is the 3rd times the heaven gates took the slam....(according to the WTS)

EDITED: Everyone's telling my g/f that she'll be disfellowshipped if we get married and such. so i've gone to war, i wrote my g/f a letter and she's read it. she couldn't really argue anything in it because it was all correct. so now, i'm going to go to the elders tomorrow with 587 BCE being the correct date (i don't give a shit about being looked at as an apostate now), and if i prove them wrong, then i'm the leet sauce and its the string. so i need help finding everything i can about the 587 arguement because i gotta get up in the morning and such. gonna be fun fun fun fun!!!!! just need help and quick. thank's for everyone who's supported me and my efforts.

by mouthy inattending the y.m.c.a & the y.wc.a.
i knew this years ago.
but a couple just leaving didnt know this- & they have been jws since 1944.. does differant countries have differant df rules.

lol yep, i knew that you'd get DF'ed for goign to the YMCA. It didn't stop me tho because it was the best gym in town. So why can we be DF'ed for going to the gym at the YMCA to be fit, yet the GB doesn't get DF'ed for belonging to the UN??

by kls inmy son was at the gym last week when he saw a guy he knew from school.
i guess they started talking and asked where each other lived.
it came down to that this guy lives three houses down from my daughter.

heh, i know what a milf is. we used it in HS because there were tons of milf teachers...and they knew it too. fortunately for me i'd never "have fun" with the milfs because i was/am too young...tooo young, and i don't dig chicks with babies that much unless its my baby (which i don't have)
