crumpet's post prompted me to go ahead and post something i've wanted to talk about for some time now.
has anyone here had lucid dreams or oobes?
i've started focusing on remembering my dreams and keeping a dream journal for about 6 months now and have had some groovy experinces.
I've been able to dream lucidly a few times. Unfortunately, I often have this feeling of not being totally in control, like I have lead weights on my feet so I can only move about with great difficulty. But I am aware that it is a dream, and can explore the dreamworld with some flexibility. SNG
wouldn't it be cool if we came up with a bunch of cool, witty screen names here, and then a bunch of lurkers who had been waiting to sign up decided to take the plunge and use one of our raanames?
i've got...sister golden hair suprise (from that old america song)rationalitegreat defillibrationworldly neophytemy parents raised me jw and all i got was this stupid screenname.
okay, so some of those are lame.
These are awesome! Okay, now it's the lurkers' turn. Everybody pick one and sign-up-as-fast-as-you-can!

ROFL! Anything I can do to help, Mer.
You know, though, I was totally cheating in that picture. I couldn't take one I was happy with with my glasses, so I took 'em off for that one. This thread is convincing me to go get some contacts.

Man, I am totally blown away by the response to that picture! Somehow the light must have been right or something. Thanks for the compliments!

Okay, so some of those are lame. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling. What have you got? C'mon, lurkers are depending on you!

if there any single factor that i would rate as the highest priority in raising a child, it is this:.
teach them to be caring, loving adults who care about other people.. we've already noted, ad nauseum, how witnesses are largely impelled by motives other than love in their "ministry".
"pioneer stroll" and fantasies about who's-house-you-want-after-armageddon, there is a further problem in raising witness kids.
It still blows my mind when I consider the physical disease that I believe the Watchtower causes.
Myself, I've always been a really healthy guy. But in the six months or so leading up to my departure, I was accosted by more and more frequent stress-related physical symptoms, such as that terrible sinking knot in the stomach and a sore throat with an "insta-on" function that would fire up whenever I thought about something that challenged my faith.
I have no doubt in my mind that if I had ignored these preliminary symptoms, I would have done so at great cost to my physical and mental health. The mind in conflict does not produce a happy body.
Now when I think about those poor souls in the congregation, about how their mind is desperately trying to survive under terribly stressful situations, I really feel for them.

my copy came in and i picked it up today.
i have a friend that i met online.....about 5 years ago.
at the time he was an elder and i was a struggling sister.
Buckle your seatbelt, Thinking. Let us know your thoughts when you've had time to digest. Enjoy.

when a witness starts thinking, there comes a time when decisions have to be made.
when you know that their bible chronolgy is unsupported or that the revelation climax book is absurd, it begins the process of 'what are you going to do now?
'......what could get you motivated is the realization that "love" is not the hallmark of this organization.
For me, the answer is an unequivical no. Absolutely impossible. When I realized that it was not the truth, staying in it was not even an option. It did not matter the consequences. I never went to another meeting again.

the beginning of the end for me was when i questioned the elders on the child abuse policy-i honestly could not believe the 2 witness rule would apply that that particular situation.
i knew our congregation had alleged cases of child molestation from years past, but the perp in question was disfellowshipped.
all of a sudden, after about 13 years, she wants to come back.
Too,
So glad to hear that you and your hubby are able to get out of the org together. When you said your husband literally cried when hearing about the UN stuff, I really felt for the guy. That's the mark of a person who's real. You wouldn't believe how many Witnesses I've told about the UN thing that just shrugged it off, no big deal.
I always say, the sincere Witnesses are forced to leave.
Anyway, congrats again.
