DA-ing Announcement in the Society's New Book

the society's new book 'organized to do jehovah's will', to be released in the congregations .

on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.

announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .

I sure would love to see a scan of the book! I wonder just how much different it will with this new info out or if it will be the same ol some ol.

OldSoul is Temporarily Offline

oldsoul asked me to start a thread to let you know he will be offline for a short time.

he did not know if it would be a few days or a week or so.

he very much regrets this sudden absence considering he has made many friends in a short time and may have left a discussion or two in suspension.

Why quotes from old publications are meaningful

most witnesses know that if you dig too hard in their older publications, you're bound to find strange, even ridiculous, quotes.

but they are trained not to put too much thought into these older publications.

if reasonable people could legitimately disagree with the wts at that time, then what does that say about "god's channel"?

JW Distinctions w/o a Difference

distinctions without a difference:

issues regarding jw beliefs and teachings bugged me going into the religion, and bugged me until i left.

they are those oh so all-important claims they make that other religions are doing such bad things ... yet they do the same thing ... but, they manage to draw some kind of technical distinction that really makes no difference.

JW's do in rare cases believe people go immediately go to heaven at death. AS in the case of the annointed. It is only the other sheep at this point in time that go into soul sleep or await the resurection. Tor
