Hurt sooo good, though.

i've only been in the truth from a distance.
family not in.
studied for years back and forth.
I've only been in the truth from a distance. Family not in. Studied for years back and forth. When I finally made it in, "Got Baptized", I lasted about 18 months before bowing out. I've never had to experience the horror of not being allowed to fellowship with my family because of being disfellowshipped. It's kinda' hard to relate to those here who've had to deal with this issue. However, what happens when someone is marked and given "The Talk"? Are you personally singled out, as a warning for others to be on guard of you? Is this the next to the last straw before they give your ass the boot?
it's funny how when you are able to take a step back an look at the big picture...you start to notice things that are just a bit wierd.. for instance...at the meeting the other night, we all sang song number 58 (notice the first verse).
then look at the songs in the rest of the songbook...and you will see that verses of this nature are in pretty much every other song.
keep singing these over and over at the kh and you begin to memorize them and eventually find yourself singing or humming them later without realizing it.
Haven't seen the inside of a KH in 20 years. Can you show me the song? Is it from the new song Book?
You'll get run the Hell over!!! Lead, follow or get out of the way!!!
at this week's bookstudy/school/service meeting, there is plenty of emphasis on "baptism"...and considering the book of acts, one must wonder about the eunuch and cornelius.. ethiopian eunuch - a minister of finance (political figure = treasurer)...didn't really understand what he was reading (not in the "accurate knowledge" way at least)...yet by phillip he was baptized soon after they met.
it was his faith in jesus that played the part.
cornelius - was in the roman army (military)...was a very giving man, kind, strong faith in jesus and believed in him...he and his family were baptized.
I've thought about that one forever. How long could he have been in that chariot before getting baptised. 6 months, a year maybe? That one has knocked me off my feet for quite some time.
its becoming something of a tradition for me.
every time i've come back to this board in the last 3 year its because of something major has changed.
a milestone of sorts.. and this is one too.
Hearing you Zagor. Sorry for your loss. I hope time gets you thru this with grace.

There's a magic in those old black and white movies of the 40's & 50's. The women were absolutely glamourous, and the clothing was to die for. All the men were depicted wearing hats. Not caps mind you, but Stetsons, Fedoras. The imagery was so intense. It spoke to a markedly different age when life was slightly more innocent than it is now.
