Well I called her back and she is a little better now. She said, "I didn't think that was very funny. It's a very serious issue to even joke about." But she isn't as mad as she was this morning. We're still going out to dinner and a movie so everything is cool. I'll just have to schmooze her tonight.

April Fools joke on JW wife that will land you in hot water
by catchthis ini was sitting here at work thinking what could i do to my other half this morning.
my brainstorming concluded that i should repent of my sins and make a request to get reinstated.
instead of calling her at home, i figured she was probably in front of her computer doing bills and such so i shot off an email.

Unless you've built up an immunity to Iocaine poison, of course.
I've spent the last few years in Australia building up an immunity to iocaine powder.

Yes, I thought flowers would probably be needed as well. The dime-and-pin sounds like another good one too!

Recommend a film
by Satans little helper inno big hollywood blockbusters, no explosion fests, just good films with a decent cast and a decent script.
definitely nothing with keanu reeves and preferably something that will touch the audience rather than just wash over them.
timeframe immaterial but quality is important.

Being from the UK, you must be aware of Guy Ritchie's two films - Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and Snatch. I still put Snatch up there as my all time favorite in the "General" category. It was cast perfectly.
You mentioned "touch" the audience. Were you looking for some sort of drama? Finding Neverland was excellent. It never received much attention until the Academy Awards. Even then, it was kinda given the cold shoulder.

I was sitting here at work thinking what could I do to my other half this morning. My brainstorming concluded that I should repent of my sins and make a request to get reinstated. Instead of calling her at home, I figured she was probably in front of her computer doing bills and such so I shot off an email. I BCC'd her so it would appear that the email was being sent to a bunch of people and not just her. Here is what I wrote:
"To all my friends and family,
I know that I have put many of you through rough times lately due to my disfellowshipping a few months ago. It was not my decision to be df'd, but the elders made it clear that I would always be welcomed back if I truly repented for what I did. After having a few months of time to think about this matter, I have decided to return to the organization. Hopefully, I will be reinstated before the year is up and once again be allowed to join you in fellowship."
It took my wife all of one minute after I sent this for her to call me. She was thrilled. She was asking me if I had already spoken with the elders blah blah blah. I didn't want to draw this out so I told her, "Hun, what do you really think?" She paused for a couple seconds and said, "April 1st, ha ha, very funny. I hope everyone else you sent this to thinks it's funnier than I did. *Click*" She was pissed. I tried calling right back but she let it go to voicemail. I sure hope our dinner plans are still a go tonight......

JWs mentioned on MSNBC commentary
by JustTickledPink inhttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7289351/
msnbc online has an article written by arthur caplan, ph.d. it's pretty good actually, page 2 he writes, and yes, we heard from the vatican about its thoughts concerning schiavo.
but where are the christian scientists, the jehovah?s witnesses and the fundamentalist protestants who turn to prayer to express their views on the right to refuse any and all medical care including a feeding tube?

JWs have gone to court to fight for their wacko religious rights on very similar issues. Where are they now?
Because with over 90% of the press that JW's get, it turns out to be negative. Why should JR Brown take a chance to "give a witness" when there is a 90% chance that whatever he says will come right back and bite him[the WTS] in the ass? They are smart not to get involved.

Continually posting your picture on this board wouldn't help matters I presume. The "two elders" part made my heart skip a beat.
catch, wondering where have I heard that before?

Are the Society planning a 'Pledge of Allegiance'? IT MAY BE TRUE!
by nicolaou ini've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.

They like to use subliminal ways of coercing people to obey. An ultimatum would cause too many to defect and really hurt their donations coming in.
An ultimatum is being asked, "Do you believe that Jehovah is using the FDS as we know it today?" A simple yes or no decides your fate forever within the org.

There is something I remembered and it relates to camp. Back in my younger days, I was lucky enough to go off to 6th grade camp(still surprised to this day my mom let me go with a bunch of worldlies).
Each morning, we had to take showers. There were two shower sections opposite of each other in the building we slept in. They were only separated by about 30 feet. The 4 'dorms' were located on the corners of the building with the shower sections between them. Anyways, each morning, one of the teachers(same guy) would drag a chair into the middle of the large room and sit down. He would turn his head back and forth watching us all go into the showers wrapped in our towels. We pondered between ourselves why he had to watch us. It's not like anyone was trying not to take a shower.
I still wonder to this day if that teacher ever was busted for child porn. Too bad I do not remember his name or I would look him up to see.
