  WHAT DID YOU GET FOR CHRISTMAS????

  from hubby's employer we got three paid days off, a huge fruit basket, and a ham.

  i got cards from friends on the forum,

  a beautiful package from country woman chock full of treats from the netherlands, and lovely candles (((thank you doll, we were so excited to recieve your gifts))),

  well my gifts were kind of few since most of my family who celebrated didn't know till last minute I was even celebrating.. they said the presents will be forthcoming later..

  I did get a really nice bottle of wine...

  a facial kit..

  some ornaments for Xmas

  some beautiful Xmas dishes!

  jewelry..

  any way.. it was a nice first year.. even if I got a little sad on xmas eve.. I spent Xmas day with SimpleSally and got to watch the little one opening up presents! that was a treat..

  (Sheila.. I sure hope this is settled here.. it's hard to see public bashing.. I've seen a ton of posts by Mac about being married right from the beginning when I joined the board.. I am surprised that you guys didn't know he was married... so I dont' know where that came from) sorry.. couldn't see that and not say something.. and no I don't want to get into a debate about it.. it is just a comment from being on the board

  on reflection of a few of the recent threads about the past year, and the ensuing one i had pause to think about some of my priorities in life.

  y'know family is always family, and that has to be the closest bond - right up there with life-partner (but you get to choose the latter .

  below (and currently my avatar) is a pic of my eldest nephew, taken about a year ago.. frankly i don't know what i'd do if anything happened to him.

  yes, as the subject line implies, i have decided to get a divorce.

  i cannot and will not go through another christmas like the one i just went through with my 10 yr old son.

  I know this can't be easy for you.. divorce is never easy.. living in a "divided household' is not either.. I know.. I grew up in one.. I am sure that your decision will make it easier for your son in time.. hang in there..

  my jw girlfriend was here for coffee this morning, and gave me the assembly report.

  her husband told her not to tell me one thing because it would give me "ammunition", but of course she told me.

  the baptism talk was always the one talk I never even tried to pay attention to and take notes.. I figured I had lived through it when I got baptised and that was enough.. I can't imagine having one with no one to talk to....

  I asked her about the talks, and she said "who listens? Too boring

  What happened in 1975?? well.. I went to High School as a Sophomore.. the boy in the congregation I attended I most had a crush on graduated...

  oh yeah.. and I was made out to be a fool.. I didn't take business classes because I told teachers that Armegeddon was coming...... no time for buiness training.. the world was ending..

  lol.. stupid me.. they all reminded me of that later when I graduated and we were all still here.. and no change in status of the earth!

  im just going to be at home with the wife, dog, two cats and maybe have a beer with the neighbor.. got three bottles of asti chillin in the fridge.

  Not sure exactly yet what is up.. this is my first year for the holidays and Christmas was a little subdoed because I couldn't fly home to see family who isnt JW and my boyfriend is Muslim and doesn't celebrate xmas.. but he does celebrate New Years (that is when he exchangeds gifts).. Originally he was supposed to be working the next day so an invite with friends to go do a casino, we turned down.. but due to circumstances beyond our control he is not working now (technicallity to be revolved soon).. so who knows.. maybe we'll now go....

  FOR sure we are breaking out some champagne!!

  smack you are indeed the best stalker..lol.. better yet.. we shall call you Sherlock!! Woo hoo.. I am going to drop Terina a line..

  You see friends Terina is an old online friend of mine back from the witnet days. I was one of several who would post in a special thread called The Never Ending Story. We just hung out together online.. At the time we were all JWs.. one day Terina decided to go back to college and the longer she was in, the more she pulled away from being a JW and the more doubts she had about the WTS. If only I had asked her then how she knew!

  Any way, one day she told all of us she no longer wanted to be a JW and totally vacated from our lives, feeling it the appropriate thing to go.. Her emails eventually closed and all contacts I had with her were lost.. but I always missed her and never wanted to lose touch.. I'm so excited.. if smack has found her he is the BEST EVER!! woo hoo!!!!

  How surprised she will be to hear that I too was finally enlightened and am OUT!!

  RAYZORBLADE, I hope you one day are able to be in touch with old lost friends.. maybe they too will leave the WTS and come looking for you!

  I think you are right Minimus.. sometimes we don't even hear a word from some who only read but an impact is still being made.. and I am quite sure a positive one.
