a jw woman died a few days ago at the age of 31. she died from ovarian cancer.
i knew her since she was a young girl.
but her death got me thinking about the jw belief/interpretation of the resurrection.
people always say that you will lose the desire for each other in the new system. Personally I always had a problem with the idea that just because you die, you can't remarry. If it is natural for us to have a mate, then why can't we marry after being resurrected, and if we had one long time mate on earth before, why not that person??
but it fixes the opposite logic that if you remarry after your loved one dies when later upon resurrection and you are no longer free for your mate who has died.
as many of you know there has been little friction on the board lately do to some recent deletions and exodus to another board.
in my deep sympathy and feeling of total unconcern about these events i took it upon myself to do something about it.
i planed my strategy using maps, schematics, long ropes, a 12 year old bottle of single malt scotch and about three minutes of planing.
well this thread does show us we can go from deletion back to activation again (and of course to deletion if we are bad.. AGAIN)
this is my paternal daughter.
she seems to be doing well in her life right now and seems happy.

tyydyy is busy with his brother so i thought i would give ya'll a little update..... they (brother & his wife) stopped by yesterday with tyydyy & his sister who lives here....they are very nice people...seem very genuine you know?
i pulled out the photo albums so they could try in fill in the gap of 20 years..weddings...births..and everything inbetween...i have some photos of when tyydyy was about 3 years old and his brother was in them with him....this is the first time his wife has ever seen photos of him at that age....and as they were looking at the photos he looked up and mused that for 20 years he has had no past...somehow that comment struck me as so sad...to have your past stolen like that....it really brings home the nature of the beast we worshiped for so long doesn't it?.
on a happier note they are off to watch bubbles strut her stuff at cheerleading and then heading to visit their other brother in west texas.... aren't happy endings nice?

how sad it is indeed. And how many of us can relate. So glad though that at least happy endings like this are possible.

the "truth" is supposed to be sooo "refreshing".
the publications talk about how "happy and refreshed" witnesses always are.
was that your experience?
I was thinking, I was trying to focus on if I could remember a refreshed feeling.. and I guess sometimes at Conventions or assemblies you could feel pumped up.. if I wanted to think about other feelings.. like how tired I was on a meeting night and didn't want to go.. or just plain depressed from feeling like you can never do enough.. THAT being the opposite of refreshed was what was felt most often.

I guess there were times when you talked to someone about the bible and they were all excited to learn. We thought we were doing the right thing and I love people so if we were able to give them something that made them happy to learn about, I guess it was a happy refreshing feeling.
I'm glad now most of them didn't end up wanting more though.. now that I know what we were teaching wasn't necessarily the road to God.
it always takes at least 2 witnesses to accuse a brother of wrong doing.
if there is only one witness, it's the word of one against the other.
but if there is a camera that films the wrong doing, could this camera be like a second witness, or does it have to be like the bible says, minimum of 2 witnesses to accuse.
but the thing is witnesses look at different things for evidence..
Look at a case that can be tried in court.. a rape for instance.. there are no witnesses and the accused can go to jail for the action. But they would do nothing in the case of the congregation if there are not two witnesses.. or other proof...just a jury to make a decision based on a trial is not enough..
