What hurt me the most by a JW or the org? When my husband (2nd) who STILL claims he was a lover of God, a Christian in good conscience, lied to me. He told me he loved me, told me he wanted a life with me, told me he could have sex, told me tons of lies in the persona of the person he was pretending to be so I would marry him and he could stay in this country. But the minute the wedding was over, the truth came out, although not all of it immediately. The fact that this man could lie about everything in his life and the elders, this organization supported him hurts me, angers me and that is why I left.
Although that was the straw that broke the camels back. I was also extremely hurt when I had attempted suicide two years ago and JW friends were not there for me. People who were supposed to be the ones who loved me the most were only angry and would barely talk to me. It had not been a cry for help, since it truly was meant to be a final act by my hand, but there is nothing like waking up and finding out that people you would have expected to shake you and tell you how much they love you and need you and DON"T go doing that again.... didn't at all.. they shunned you for a while.. that hurt..
AND one of those people, now that I left JWs actually told me I should go blow my head off.. slit my wrists, take my own life the right way this time.........that hurt

How would you explain jws to a non-jw?
by Gadget inin the past, when i've been talking about being a witness they haven't really understood just how much of an impact it has on your life unless they've been one too.
whats the best way to explain it to someone who has never been a witness and had little contact with them?
i'm more thinking of how much control there is over your life, and the reason why a lot of witnesses feel down and suffer from depression, ect.. gadget

I have had a hard time explaining JWs to my boyfriend. The more I try, the more he shakes his head. He will even say, do you have any normal friends who are JWs?? He has obviously seen how dysfunctional JWs are. And the doctrines we believed in, we will talk about them and now of course they make no sense, so it is so hard to him think it is a rational religion to be a part of. He can't believe the control we were under.
However, as he deals with wanting to say NO to his daughter who is 14 and yet not wanting to feel over protective and looks at me, I tell him, hey, this is new territory for me. My kids were raised JWs and they just plain weren't allowed to do anything!! Then he says, wait, let me rethink this, maybe I will make my daughter one! Just kidding of course!!

My dub mom wants to remarry
by unbeliever inbefore she can though she needs my dad to admit to adultary.
they've been divorced for years but he has never remarried and has no plans too.. she says she's in love with a widowed brother but before they go any further she wants to be scriptually free.
she called my dad and asked him if he would help her out and he laughed and hung up the phone.

Technically if she doesn't have her freedom to date.. that elder by getting to the point they are as in spending time together.. talking marriage is out of line.. AS an ELDER and by Example he should not have even let it get this far until she is free officially to date.. if he was turned in, he could be in trouble for it..

Did I get the wrong Christmas Ornaments?
by Elsewhere ini have a small tree so i got a package of small ornaments that are about 2 inches in diameter.
when i bought them i did not notice that the tops do not have hooks like i expected, instead they have very small loops.
these loops are too small to slide on to the branches of the tree, so am i supposed to use little twist-ties or something?

As I have been out looking at the purchased 'fake' trees, I haven't noticed any of the NON green/ sprayed kind. Do they do that only to real ones? or has that gone out of fashion??
Well I went to purchase just one or two ornaments yesterday just to have a little fun... I was like a child in a toy store for the first time. I wanted this one.. oh.. and that one!.. oh but this one looks so well with those two.. and so on and so on... before I knew it I had a cart full.. all with the ice blue/ white/ and teal theme.. sooooo pretty.
It was kind of overwhelming though.. I don't understand how much to get like garlands.. etc.. and lights?? so many kinds to chose from.. I don't want to put too much on and have it look over done.. Help.. what does the perfect balanced tree look like??

my worse experience? having a ex boyfriend get pissed at me when I broke it off with him mail pictures of me in sexual action to a sister who then emailed that pic to numerous others on the internet... I was only slightly embarrased.. NOT.. I thought I'd die..
although one brother did look me up after he saw them..he was like "is that you in those pics?" and I said.. "Yeah.. he said Damn girl.. I got to check that out....." lol.. we were a little bad together when we did meet in person.. lol

had very loyal and active dub parents... there was just no question growing up that i was going to pioneer, reach out for privileges, etc.

I know too many who won't point to a date from an article.. they got too burned back in 75.
Even my mother who is very upset about me leaving, hasn't said a word and she would if she took it that way. She just keeps saying that religion will be turned on any minute and I need to get back in now while there is still time.
