i sorta have a knack for embarassing myself.
i'll say something and once its out of my mouth, i realize it has a "double meaning"... .
a couple of days ago i was putting up my curtains.
well if they are good natured, they might never let you forget it.. The best thing is to laugh with them. We all say things at times that we don't expect to come out the way they did.
i am not sure if the grocery strike is just here in so cal, statewide or nationwide, but it has widened now because the teamsters union has decided to honor the strikers.
they will no longer deliver groceries to the big 3 chain stores.
independant drivers now are being used.
I hate strikes. I try to honor them, so they can get things taken care of sooner rather than later. This strike is starting to irriate me though. Too long going on. I do feel for the employees on strike.
this board is used by people of all around the world.
while we get up, others go to bed.
are there some posters you would like to know better, but the time zones seem to make it difficult?
I think the biggest difference is if you chat with anyone in the chat messengers live. Then you have to be online at the same time. Even in the chat room here, different people will be in there at different times due to the time difference.
.
this could probably be under friends but it has a belief twist in it.. enjoy your time with family and friends this long weekend and give thanks for all that is good.. i know many of you turkeys will be scared though...run ..run for your lives.. i don't think there can be too much wrong with the celebration considering the nation of israel celebrated with the festival of ingathering or harvest, almost sounds identical when you think about it.. .
We are getting together with SimpleSally tomorrow.
The one thing I wondered about, my bf said it was the custom of his family to ALWAYS have two meat meals for Thanksgiving. (ie., Turkey and Prime Rib, or Turkey and Ham). I did ask someone at work and she said OH yes, you have to have two. I never heard fo that. There seems like there is always so many left overs as it is. My dads side of the family who were not JWs and now and then I did get to go to their place when I was young with my dad, only had turkey..
Is it usual for the rest of you who celebrate to have two meals of meat?
