Hey....Ripping is good but I try to be a little bit more subtle about things. If some one is interested enough to open the mag they might be a potential Dub in the making.To keep them from becoming one on the INSIDE COVER of the mag write something like this....

i was raised jw.. and for all my bitterness toward the wtbs i had great parents.

opened the january 1st wt yesterday, and - oops!
no annual world report, just the same type of study articles that are usually featured in the january 1st issues, but no mentioning of countries or figures.. are the figues saved for the yearbooks only?
When does the Feb 1 WT come out?

every time i speak to an active jw in my congregation, they don't give me the impression that they are slowing down.
if i say that i see less jw's on the street knocking on doors, they will say that many are working full time.
they will also probably say that the hall is always full of people.. i don't go to the hall anymore, so i can't say if the hall is full or not, but i notice that there are way less jw's going door to door than before in this area.
I know they are slowing down in my area but that is because of aging and not many young people moving in to pick up the slack.
Most of the elders here are late 60's or older.

I walked straight out of Bethel that evening Leo Grennlees told me he didn't love me anymore.
I find that hard to believe...I heard that Leo loved everyone whenever and where ever he got the chance.
reading the thread about the jw postal worker killed, made me think long and hard about the truthfulness of what cipic was stating, that the society allows for ones to work in the post office but frowns upon driving a truck for a major company like coca-cola, because the possibility that one may have a route that goes to a military base for instance.
or maybe to a strip club for that matter, i mean the possibilities are almost endless.
what kind of guidelines do they use in such cases?
I mean what happens when a witness works at a coveinience store and someone wants to buy a pack of cigarettes, or purchase a lottery ticket? Are the lines really drawn with that degree of uncertainty?You can sell smokes or loto tickets only if you work for the store. If you own the store you will be DFed if you continue to sell those products.

This going to only "approved" hotels appears to have become a great deal to the Watchtower, particularly in the last 10 or so years.
It's all about the money.They try to tell you that they get "special rates" by booking complete hotels and motels.
I had my suspicions about a "special room rate" a few years ago for the summer assembly. A few weeks later over the phone I tried to book the VERY SAME ROOM and was given the exact same room rate without trying for the dub price. I don't know if this happens everywhere but it looked like the WT was getting kickbacks on the rooms.I am sure that would not be a suprise to many on this board.

we were taught that telling someone misinformation or outrightly saying something untrue------was not in itself a sin----if it was told to someone that had no reason to be told the truth.
for example, if an "opposer" asked us questions about "our brothers or the congregation", we could use "theocratic strategy", which is lying and tell them we know nothing that could help them out.
I could be wrong but do you think there is the slightest chance he is a TROLL ?
