Rodney Spinks' Performance

it seems like there has not been as much discussion here about the rc testimony on day 6 (4th august) as there has been about previous days.

i was quite surprised by rodney spinks' testimony, which was a marked contrast to the bungling and inarticulate testimony of the elders that appeared before him.

spinks seemed reasonably co-operative, and a lot more willing to concede points than anyone else has been.

Ah, yes, this guy was a well trained Society man all the way. That will reassure the faithful.

But, he gave a truthful account of the lengths that the Society will require them to go to lie for them. And a truthful account of how incredibly awful they will treat women. He was horrible to the women lawyers. And, he gave a detailed account as to how the JW judicial process acts to collect, document and distribute all those child sex stories that they are obsessed with meeting together, time and time again, to discuss in detail. And so obediently passing all those details on to their 'superiors'.

Spinks was actually quite a valuable witness.

I wonder if Spinks is actually one of those Society members? One of those 300-500 men that, according to the WTS charter, gain elite membership into the voting circle of the Society itself?

Is he one of those men who have the special status? Is he one of the annointed?

One or both of those factors would hold him to a greater accountability for the crime of collecting child sex abuse material. That is a crime that holds no borders over all those 'lands' he brags about. Mandatory reporting laws or not, crimes have already been committed.

Spinks gave a great accounting of the WTS' crimes against children.

I hope the Toole tries to top Spink's performance. Lol! Did you catch the jw..org plug that Spinks threw in last nite? Haha! Maybe Toole will wear a blue button for his appearance.

Definitely. Big time. My mama rage is hard to keep bottled up. Maybe I need a skin bottle in which to put my anger.

The level of misogyny is horrific.

I was sickened by the description of how the elders "collect evidence".

What is being described as "evidence collecting" brings up mental images of all those elders we saw on the stand so far, all sitting around in a circle jerk sharing stories about child sex. Sometimes with the child doing the telling, sometimes just elders and the man accused. Questions about details of child sex. Doing it over and over again. Because "they don't have a confession yet". "Gotta go get that child to give us more details!"

Yuck. Bunch of perverts. They even have provision for an "observer" to the story collecting. Sounds like something that would happen in Thailand. A man pays to go sit in a room while a child tells him about sex and he gets to asks questions about all the details. While another man watches and listens. The judicial process comes complete with accomodation for a voyeur.

Free child sex stories.

Yuck, yuck, yuck.

And if they don't have enough of those stories, they can always find some wayward teen or wife to provide them with "details for investigation" into sex crimes/sins.

These stupid WT guys have picked, methinks, the wrong issue to take a stand on this time. Throw their asses in jail and leave them in the general population. Then they can find out how skinners are treated in that justice system. If they don't like this one, try that one out.

Will Vincent Toole speak the truth to the Royal commission?

vincent toole has a history of stating blatant untruths in order to protect the wt.. he is recorded as once saying that shunning was "a myth".. i wonder how linguistically pedantic will he get, and how much double-speak will he employ in order to defend the current wt policies.

my guess is he will try to twist the senior counsel in knots with wordy responses, in the hope they will simply run out of time.. if this fails then i'm expecting some howlers of deception..

Mattieu: Vincent Toole is a snake oil salesman (no offense to those in that particular industry). He always used to give the last talk at every DC and whip up the audience in anticipation for the next DC and spend 10 minutes giving "glowing" proof of Jahs blessings on the borg. He loved it when the audience would clap after every sentence he uttered, meaning his talk would always finish late. He is a wanker. Cant wait to see him exposed...

That means we will probably be subjected to sermons again. That Spinks was quite the piece of work - he did his preaching act at every opportunity. He will go down in the WT history books as "giving a fine witness in the face of adversity".

Maybe they can slow Toole down from Bible flipping by stating at the beginning of questions, "This is a "yes" or "no" question only..." for a while so he can't put his sermon hat on. Mind you...if those jokers aren't preaching, they have nothing to say.

I hope the gals have a good attack lined up today. I want to see a WT man totally lose it on the stand. Spinks almost did a few times last night. Maybe the women can get Toole to raise up and start shouting - better yet, start screaming and become violent. If he gets pushed hard enough, he might get really pissed at a woman.

Spinks was getting really angry last night with the women - I hope they turn up the heat on Toole. It would be great to see him taken out of court in restraints. Or get reprimanded by the Justice. Spinks was walking a real fine line last night. I think he was close to having been brought to task for the way he was speaking to the women lawyers. Mind you, everyone was probably waiting to see how far Spinks would go.

That would make my heart glad - to see a WT goon go ape shit over a woman right in public, for the world to see. Last night was close. Spinks could hardly keep it together when he had to be questioned by the women. He became very argumentive with the women. And snarky.

I hope that Toole shows his true colors and gives us the truth after all. I hope he gets lots of opportunities to be a true WT goon. In public. On tape. Let the world see what it is we have seen all along.

He can say whatever he wants on the stand - he will lie because he has no truth to tell. But, if he is pushed, he can be forced to show truth. Spinks did last night. He took over the questioning at many times - asking questions back, teaching the court from the Bible,....the performance tonight will be outstanding - Toole is the big guy and he will have center stage. He will want to outdo everybody else.

I just had a thought. I wonder if Toole is one of those Watchtower Society members? One of the special ones that actually do belong to the Society itself? Does Toole have extra accountability that the others don't? And, is Spinks a member of the WTS as well? What is their real standing? Do they have voting rights at the level of WTS?

Wasn't there testimony already given by the one or more of the JW elders that if the accused admits/confesses, he is given the option to "step down" rather than be deleted?

I think it was Horley that said that. Because it later made me wonder about the "stepping down" that two of the elders said they did temporarily. When questioned, they had both said it was for "personal reasons".

Ha. It is established that elders collect 'evidence" by obtaining stories from the child or victim that was a child at the time of the abuse, Nicely done.

And, so many times the stories are told...from one elder to another - and what about those "confession" sessions? All those men, sitting around in a circle. Talking about sex with a minor. With the minor right there sometimes.

Huh. An "observer" elder. While an elder talked to a minor about sex. Watching. Listening. In some places that would be termed voyeurism.

i have first hand knowledge that geoffrey jackson of the governing body is staying with his parents in toowoomba, queensland for the next few weeks.

he has already been in australia for a couple of weeks.

Those authoritative elders didn't hold up her allegations and they are supposed to speak for Jehovah.

Why would she even believe that worldly police would help her? If the elders couldn't and they were representing "God", she wouldn't think her testimony was good enough to go to the police.

Hell, the elders have even told her that, according to the Bible, it didn't happen.

I would call all that "discouraging behavior".
