Data-Dog: I imagine the GB are crapping their pants, scrambling to piece together next month's 144,000 Club broadcast! LOL!!!! 😈
Vidiot: At the very least, I don't imagine they're sleeping very well.Maybe Bethel laundry is busy washing and ironing the GB's robes to get ready for the "rapture of the GB".
Lol! Rapture = disappearing and hiding out in some obscure place.

Dragging Jehovah's name trough the mud!
by truthseekeriam inlistening to the first survivor testify to the australian royal commission really brought back some feelings i had put aside.. the feelings of guilt you feel for doing the right thing is extremely hard even when you know it's illogical it doesn't stop the abuse you do to yourself with these toxic thoughts of "dragging jehovah's name through the mud" i guess it doesn't help that you have the elders freaking out saying "reproach, reproach...this is bad!!
it took quite awhile for me to come to terms with how completely ridicules it is to think jehovah would want this hidden.
the truth is the religion wants it hidden and they are perfectly fine with destroying lives along the way!!

I find the phrase "Jehovah's name" to be odd.
It doesn't make sense. If I were to refer to a person, I would say "you should be careful about damaging that person's name"...I wouldn't say "Bob's name" because his name is Bob.
What is Jehovah's name? Well...it is Jehovah.
It is a redundant phrase.
Does that mean that God's name is Jehovah but Jehovah's name...is "God"???
Huh. Bob's name is Bob. Well, no shit.

Jehovah's Witnesses #10 in Yahoo trending
by TweetieBird ini'm sitting here drinking my morning coffee and opened up the yahoo page to see jw's trending at #10. clicked on it and the first article is about the child abuse.. did something happen lately that would get so many people doing a massive search?.
-
OrphanCrow
I just did a google search on "Jehovah's Witnesses".
Before this story broke, that search term would have returned almost a full page of jw..org.
Now, jw..org is holding onto the top spot, but the rest of the first page has been taken over by the abuse scandal.
I hope the JWs keep directing the public to the internet. Nice of them to alert the public that their organization is online. Most people will do a search instead of just going to their website.
I am waiting for jw..org to get knocked out of their top spot on search results.

"Do you realise how inappropriate that is?!"
by stuckinarut2 inin the australian royal commission enquiry into child abuse and the way institutions handle such is underway.. today the judge said the following in response to the way judicial committees operate:.
(not verbatim...but the gist of his comments are:).
"so a young woman, a suspected victim of abuse or someone accused of a sin, would have to appear before three older men in a 'judicial committee' and relate in detail her ordeal?

opusdei1972: Interestingly, the evil methodology of the judicial meetings is being exposed.
And not only that, but the dark underbelly of the congregations is also being exposed. Yesterday's witness, the woman who was told to bottle her tears in a skin bottle, revealed how unkind and unloving the whole congregation is, including women who accused her of lying. Her own mother was complacent in the abuse.
The judicial meetings are horribly abusive and the rest of the congregation falls in line and continues the abuse - the JW women are extensions of the male abuse. The abusive behavior is not just confined to the elders - it is systemic.

JW Reaction to Royal Commission Reports
by maksutov inhas anybody confronted any jws with the royal commission reports on the news yet?
i showed my 8-year old daughter a newspaper headline about it, and when she told my jw wife that the jws in australia were in trouble for not reporting over 1,000 child abusers to police, her response was "oh, really?
well, i don't know what the rules are over there.

Oubilette: "Oh, really? Well, I don't know what the rules are over there."
Wow, that's lame. Really lame.It sure reveals their lack of independent thought.
The JWs are a rule based culture. They view the world as split into "worldly rules" and "our rules". And of course, worldly rules are bad and their rules are good.
I don't think the JWs are capable of viewing the world in any other way except rule based. The JWs use their "rules" as a safety fence that protects them from that big, bad world out there. Only trouble is, those rules are what keeps the wolves inside the fence instead of keeping them out.

LoveUniHateExams: Cossacks (interesting-sounding word - possibly related to the word Kazakhs?)
"Cossack" actually means "free man". The Cossacks earned that name because of their belief in a free, democratic society. (kozac - not Kazakhs).
The name "Cossack" is synonymous with "freedom fighter" because of the Cossacks' tendency to pick up arms and fight on the side of the underprivileged. Historically, the Cossacks were seen as the "knights" of Imperial Russia and the protectors of Russian people. At one time, the seven Cossack clans that guarded the borders of Imperial Russia were called "The Seven Pearls of Russia".
*to add - the Cossack political alliance was split in the years leading up to the Revolution. The "red" Cossacks aligned themselves with the Bolsheviks and the "white" Cossacks remained loyal to the Tzar and Imperial Russia.

Ding: "I don't recall" sounds like, "We get so many of these I can't keep track of them all."
Yes, You are right.
Dino told the judge that "some things stick in a person's memory but others don't" (sic).
Which could be interpreted to mean "I don't recall because it wasn't important enough to stick in my memory".
The lack of recall is damning whichever you look at it. If they can't remember child abuse being reported to them it means that the abuse was insignificant in their minds.
For guys who can't remember most things asked of them, they sure can launch into detailed explanations at times when it comes time to explain their actions.
"I don't recall" means "I can't reply without lying".

........
Asked how long ago he was asked to appear at this inquiry ? About 4-6 weeks ago .
My words not his ,but that is the gist of it.
smiddy...and the judge raised his eyebrows at Bello's responses.
I don't think that the judge was too impressed that Bello hadn't prepared for his testimony. The Commission has prepared several guides for witnesses called to the hearing and Bello had made no effort to educate himself on the process.
