Candace on the other hand IS fighting to get them to change their policy thus why would she accept a settlement, she is not in it for the money but to change the policies...thus the only way she could accept a settlement is if the WT are going to change their policies.
Or am I wrong?

Yes, I think you are wrong. There are certain policies that cannot be changed. Some can be changed through a court of law, and some cannot be changed. The notion that the JW elders have to announce and/or inform the congregation that a pedophile is in their midst does not have legal clout. It won't happen. What can happen, though, is that the elders and the WTS can be held responsible for supervising the pedophile and ensuring that they are never alone with children while they are engaged in church activities. That can be enforced.Besides, Candace can do whatever the fuck she wants to do. Even if she wants to change her mind...it is HER decision and hers alone and nobody should criticize the decisions of Candace and her legal team. Nobody. -

Increasing awareness about cases like the woman in Ghana, is a double-edged sword.
We would like to think that media attention will pressure the WTS to change their bloody doctrine, or for countries to change laws so children can get blood. However, i don't think that the media attention will result in that outcome - what it will do is increase the public's perception that there is a demand and need for "bloodless" technology.
The people who are rubbing their hands in glee over this woman's death, are the JWs who are profiting from the biotechnology companies that they work for, promote, and are invested in. Each death from blood refusal adds to the demand of the market.
The article in the OP links to an editorial concerning JWs refusing blood transfusions for their children in Ghana.
Ghana: A-G Must Intervene in Jehovah's Witnesses Bunkum
The comment section is telling. The WTS has been very successful in perpetuating medical myths and lies through the spread of their propaganda. The noblood propaganda and lies extend across the world.
Several people who responded to the article reveal the level of ignorance that is encouraged by WTS sites like noblood:
"This is sheer lunacy. Far more people have died from taking "life-saving" transfusions due to hemoletic reactions and blood-borne disease than have ever died from refusing a transfusion."
That statement is misinformed and inaccurate.
Lee Elder, you had your hands full responding to the people who posted replies. Well done - but I am not sure if anything can combat the lies that they have been told. The bloody doctrine seems to have a tighter hold on people than even the concept of god does - the WTS uses their twisted "science" in the same way they use the "bible" to support their twisted religious doctrine.
Here is another sadly ignorant comment:
"Blood transfusions do not save live. Replacing lost volume wirh volume expanders does. People die from two reasons: trams or disease. Medical science has found that the safe course is always non-blood medical management. The author of this article is uninformed and thus very biased."
Again, Lee, you gave a great reply to that very wrong comment.
I do not know how to combat the misinformation that is perpetuated by the WTS and their noblood propaganda teams, but the level of deceit that is fed to people who lack the skills and resources to access valid medical facts is astounding, and criminal.
"It is not true transfusions are required. Many hospitals around the world are blood free operations. The USA Military is going blood free in its hospitals, forward line units."
This is a horribly misinformed statement - yes, the military uses techniques to reduce the amount of blood required - but they DO NOT "go blood free". The military cannot go blood free. They MUST abide by a resuscitation model, which includes giving blood when required - even if the patient undergoes surgery using autologous transfusion technology, blood is always on hand if required. Always. It is only the JWs who are allowed to die on the table - everybody else gets to use the back up safety valve - they get blood when they need it.
There are many medical studies that report that the use of a cell saver increases bleeding during surgery and after. The cell savers will sometimes, but not always, reduce the need for an allogenic blood transfusion. Sometimes, more allogenic blood transfusions are needed when cell savers are used, not less.
As I said before, I have no idea how to educate JWs and exJWs about TTAB- the truth about blood. The WTS has been perpetuating lies about blood for decades - my father, inactive for over 45 years, attended the Canadian Kingdom Ministry School in Toronto back in the early 60s and he still retains the idea that a blood substitute was easily and readily used instead of blood - and with as good or better result than blood. That is the lie he was told by the WTS way back in 1965. He still believes it to be true. He has no idea that JWs were used by the US military to test blood volume expanders during the 60s - and that many of those JWs died from drowning as a result of testing the tolerable levels of volume expanders - .they died because of the alternatives being tested on them.
My father still believes that there is a safe and easy alternative to blood - he retains the idea that the doctors can just grab a different bag of fluid and hang it on the pole instead of blood - that is what he was told in 1965. And that isn't true.
It seems to be far easier to dismantle the lies around the biblical basis for the noblood stance, than it is to uproot the medical lies that the WTS has told.
And that means that women like the one in the article will continue to die. Women are more likely to need blood than men, and yet, the men make the rules. Women have no say in the making of the rules - they just are told to obey the directive to sacrifice their lives. Little do they know that their death will only translate into profit for the JWs who promote the "bloodless" technology that they are invested in..

prologos: OrphanCrow: are all Catholics served the wine?, or, just like the JWs, denied it, but allowed to watch the special class member ( priest) drink?
I duuno, prologos. Lol! I am not much of a Catholic. I have only been in a Catholic Church for weddings and funerals. And once, for fun, I went to Roman Catholic Easter mass. That was a hoot - I had never seen anything like it!
There were guys dressed in blue and white who marched around (the knights), and the priest did hokey pokey magic - talking in Latin, shaking incense balls and throwing stuff in a cauldron...big sparks and lots of smoke!
I was sitting alone in a pew, and got surrounded by a large Italian family. Haha! they brought coolers with sandwiches and chicken and thermoses of coffee (I think it was coffee - maybe it was wine) and settled in for a party.
It was wild. And the music was good.
But, if you really want an experience, I recommend a Ukrainian Greek Orthodox wedding. If you can tolerate the length and the getting up and down, the ceremony is quite stupendous.

bafh: wait, does this mean that she won, or they won?
Candace won the minute she stepped into court and opened her mouth.
That was a victory to beat all other victories for her.
Legal battles are won by taking small steps, and sometimes a step backwards. The changes that will happen in the court system may take years to see, but like the old saying goes - a journey of a thousand miles is started by taking one step.
The victory for each and every victim begins the moment they find their voices.
Candace won. Big time. The victory is for her and for all other victims like her who can find courage in knowing that the trail has been blazed.
Well done, Candace. You deserve a rest. Years from now, you will be able to look back and know that what you have done bears fruit. Others will benefit from your courageous stand.
Candace, you should get a standing ovation...a really long one.

Ah, yes...the Catholic Church - the mother of them all.
Excommunicated Catholics are denied the communion - the JWs don't drink the wine or eat the bread.
The Jehovah's witnesses are just apostate Catholics.

millie: They dont have all the access to bloodless products that are available in first world countries.
Wonder if they've thought that one over?Of course they have, How do you think blood management societies, and the accompanying technology that goes along with "bloodless medicine", get their commercial interests into third world countries?
Demand = market.
The WTS has thought this one over very well - the JW blood transfusion ban propels third world markets in bloodless technology (bloodless surgery and artificial blood). They don't care if a bunch of people die as long as the profits are rolling in.

My goodness, Mr. JW Lorenz Reibling sure gets around...he was in Israel back in 2013 - I guess he was looking out for his investments in that country. I wonder if his 'risk management plan' for increasing the sense of urgency in real estate markets (he describes this in the 2013 video) has anything at all to do with the recent JW missionary push in Israel.
Grapevine: Talking peace at the grassroots level
■ THERE WERE quite a number of prominent figures at the festive cocktail party hosted at Beit Hatfutsot by Edouard Cukierman, chairman of Cukierman Investment House and managing partner of the Catalyst Fund, to launch the annual Go4Europe conference.
One of the conference’s keynote speakers was Baron David de Rothschild, chairman of the Rothschild Group, who specially came from France for the occasion. He didn’t make it to Israel in time for the cocktail party, but did come to grace the podium the following day.
Coincidentally, one of the exhibitions at Beit Hatfutsot honors the memory and work of Jehezkiel David Kirszenbaum, whose patron was the baron’s mother, Alix de Rothschild.
Rothschild was not the only conference participant to come from Europe for the conference.
Others included: Maximo Buch, Valencia’s economy, industry, tourism and employment minister; David Hatchwell Altaras, vice president of the Federation of Spanish Jews, head of the Madrid Jewish community and CEO of Excem, which inter alia markets Israeli technology in Spain and South America; French film director and scriptwriter Elie Chouraqui; Pierre Lellouche, president of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly; Dr. Christopher Proctor, CSO of British American Tobacco; Luc Muller, CEO of the German Otto Group; Dr. Florent Gros, head of Novartis Venture Funds; Prof. Lorenz Reibling, chairman of Taurus Investment Holdings; and Maurice Levy, CEO of Publicis, the giant Paris-headquartered multinational advertising and public relations firm. The Reibling brothers, Lorenz and Geunther, have had business dealings in North America for some time - they ran Taurus Construction back in the 90s. And they weren't all that honest about it, either.

AFFIRMED. As to the civil theft judgment, there was evidence that appellant, Taurus Construction, Inc., used (for the benefit of another corporation) residual construction funds intended to be deposited in a "rent reserve" account to insure that investors received a guaranteed return on their investment.
crazyguy: Knorr pushed the blood doctrine in 1945 I'm wondering if there's away to see if her had any connections to these men from Germany?
Yup, it sure would be interesting to know who Knorr was meeting with when he made his trips to Germany after Rutherford died.
He likely had those contacts already set up from the times he went there with Rutherford on business. Interestingly enough, Knorr and Franz were not the ones that Rutherford had named to be his successor - Hayden Covington was. Knorr and Franz shoved Convington out of the WTS power circle on the excuse that Convington wasn't one of the "anointed". Rather ironic, isn't it?
Once Rutherford was out of the way, and Knorr had control, the plight of the JWs in the SS camps became much, much better. Henrich Himmler really liked the JWs - in fact, he had plans to use the JWs as a vanguard in conquered territories after the war - the JWs didn't bear arms and they had a compatible ideology to the Nazis. Himmler thought that the JWs would be excellent for controlling the people in the Thousand Year Reign of the Reich. Himmler really liked the JWs. A lot.
https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Heinrich_Himmler
Some information and observations of recent date have led me to draw up plans that I would like to bring to your attention. This concerns Jehovah’s Witnesses. . . . How are we going to govern and pacify Russia when . . . we will have conquered vast areas of its territory? . . . All forms of religion and the pacifist sects must be supported . . . , among all the others the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is well-known that the latter have characteristics incredibly positive for us: Apart from the fact that they refuse military service and anything to do with war . . . , they are incredibly reliable, do not drink, do not smoke; they are relentless workers and of rare honesty. For them the spoken word stands. These are ideal characteristics . . . , enviable qualities.
And not only that - the JWs were extremely loyal - they would do anything that the WTS told them to - including dying for the bloody doctrine - they would give up their children to the Blood God. Just like the women who gave their children to Hitler, they would give their children to "Jehovah".
There is an account in a book about the Lebensborn maternity homes that were established by Himmler - the book is Of Pure Blood (pg. 104) - that tells of a Lebensborn woman who converted to the JWs:
…Frau S., for instance, who presented a son to the Fuhrer at Steinhoring in 1943, is now an active Jehovah’s Witness. "Then Hitler was my god," she told us. "Since then, I have found the only true God."
Many SS officers and guards converted to the JWs during and after the war. Surprisingly enough, something else that happened after Rutherford died, was that the JWs in the camps in Germany were spread around in the general population, no longer kept in groups so much, and they encountered little resistance to their preaching efforts.
Himmler had a vision that extended far beyond the end of the war.

Watchtower Charter-A Danger to GB?
by TakeOffTheCrown inthe following link is a pdf of the charter for the watchtower bible and tract society of new york as of 2003:.

my question: is the governing body in danger of removal if they do not adhere to the charter?.
-

Millie, the Governing Body doesn't get the assets - the assets would go to "an organization designated by the Governing Body".
That designated organization has to also be a nonprofit organization. Lol! Never fear - the WTS octopus has many arms that could accept that transfer of assets! Or...they can just make up another nonprofit - that is pretty easy to do.

I posted a lot of material in my last post, and the Boston College video is especially long and dense.
But, if you watch anything, do watch the 2013 REFIRE video. That is the creepiest video of them all - Reibling, an active and prominent JW, never once mentions Jehovah's Witnesses or the WTS in his talk to a roomful of white shirted white men, but he talks about the ideology of the organization in the video. I couldn't breathe when I was watching it and it took a long time for my heart to quit pounding.
Shadow organization? Absolutely. Creepy as hell. Chilling.
