Seriously??? Oh, gawd - yeah, no bullshit.
I've also heard a rumour repeated by several youtube film reviewers that Avatar-body Quaritch will feature in sequels 3,4 and 5
i saw jim cameron's avatar sequel last week.. right off the bat re the avatar franchise, i believe that there are two types of viewers.. firstly, there are the fans.
the people who see the pretty visuals and immediately conclude that avatar is the greatest film franchise of all time.. then there are the rest of us - people who can appreciate the world-building and stunning visuals but do not use them to cover over the flaws, more of which later.. the plot - jake sully, neytiri and their children have to leave their idyllic arboreal existence and seek refuge among a green-skinned tribe which lives a semi-aquatic lifestyle.. bad guy quaritch is back ... in avatar form.
that's some great imagination - nice one, jim.. so the humans are back because the earth is dead.

Yeah, I felt like that the first time I watched Avatar (2009).
I've recently posted a half-assed review of the Avatar sequel on this forum.

So. I saw Jim Cameron's Avatar sequel last week.

*slow handclap*

So the humans are back because the Earth is dead. This time they're after a substance from Pandora's native whale-type creatures.
There is a final battle and Jake and his family live happily ever after.
There is so much wrong with this film.
First off. the plot is basically a retread of the first film, if you switch Unobtainium for the life-prolonging whale jizz, and put Quaritch and his gang of redneck f**ktards back into human bodies.
The dialogue is atrocious in places. I know that with these kinds of visual films. the plot and dialogue are not the most important aspects, but still(!).
The characters are rather bland and forgettable. I couldn't get invested in Jake and Neytiri, let alone the new characters. In short, I didn't really care what happened to them.
And was it really a great idea to have the whale creatures as talking beings who can chat to the Navi? That was f**king ridiculous.
Avatar: The Way of Water is basically what happens when a director has total control, an enormous budget, and no one to drown out the yes-men.
How would I rate this film?
Meh - 4 or 5 out of 10.
My mate streamed it but maybe it's best to see it at the cinema.

I think Lloyd maybe fails to appreciate the general feelings of his target audience.
Ex-dubs and athiests have a moral code and ideas about right and wrong, whereas Lloyd seems to do whatever he wants.
Obviously, most men don't cheat on their wives with prostitutes.
And then there's people like Lloyd

@Earnest - if an asylum seeker pays a smuggler for a seat on a dinghy then said asylum seeker has funded crime and crossed the channel illegally. There are both legal and illegal routes into a country.
i don't think that it's too early for my annual merry christmas thread .
merry christmas everyone.
jan .
Hi Jan!
Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year

An asylum seeker is not, by definition, an illegal immigrant - hmm, not sure about this.
Is it not possible for an illegal immigrant to also seek asylum?
BTW, the dinghy people are funding criminal outfits run by the people smugglers. This isn't legal, surely ...

These illegal immigrants arriving on our shores should be met by the Royal Navy on approaching British waters and turned around and sent South back to France. France is not a war torn country, they are perfectly safe there -
Or, we could stop sending the RNLI to rescue them, and JUST LET THEM DROWN. Not nice, but it would discourage more from doing it.
St George has it right.
Migrants are swapping the relative safety of France for the dangers of the English Channel ... in rubber f**king dinghies.
And what about parents putting their children into rubber dinghies. To all parents on this forum - you wouldn't put your children in danger, would you?
Any parents who have done that have totally failed their children, no question.
Absolute insanity.
A word has to be said about the people smugglers, too. We should just send in the army or armed police or anti-terrorist squads, and wipe them out. No fucking around, just shoot the bastards.
i was thinking about freedom of speech after watching a clip about the jw suing kevin mcfree.
they wanted to take away his freedom of speech.
but in thinking about it, that is the way of the organization, save they want to control thought as well.
Well, Thank God for the Internet - yes, and for a free press, too
