Here's another planetary fact that is pretty amazing: Saturn is less dense than water.
So, if you had an ocean large enough and could somehow put Saturn on it, the planet would float. <--- wtf?
i saw this on twitter the other day and it blew my mind.. tyrannosaurus is closer to us than to stegosaurus.
that is, when tyrannosaurus lived, stegosaurus were already fossilized and those fossils were older than tyrannosaurus fossils are today to us, by a good 20 million years!.
in a similar vein, the star wars prequel movies are now older than the original star wars movies were when those prequels were released.. how about that we're closer in time to cleopatra than she was to the pyramids being built.. what 'ya got?.

Here's a fact that blows my mind: Jupiter has no hard surface.
We're so used to standing on hard ground on our planet, seeing the sky (atmosphere) above us and seeing the sea (hydrosphere).
But Jupiter is a gas giant - it has no hard distinctions between land, air and sea. There are outer layers of gas, and as you go beneath the surface, thousands of miles down into the planet, the gas gradually becomes compressed or becomes liquid (don't think astronomers are sure).
So, humans can't stand on Jupiter (if our technology allows us to reach the planet).
recently, some scientists modeled one of the simplest known cells - that of a bacteria.
it took an army of 128 computers running for 10 hours to process the data required in the 25 categories of molecules that are involved in this "simple cells'" life processes.
think about that for a moment - 128 computers running for 10 hours just to compute the data, not actually do it mind you; but just to model the known processes in one of the simplest known cells, which is many orders of magnitude simpler than a human cell.
@Disullusioned JW - I don't know what your point is.
One gene makes a lot of difference for humans and chimps or gorillas. Well, so what?
Humans and chimps diverged at least 8 million years ago, although chimps are our closest living relatives.
The chimp genome is approx. 98% identical compared to ours.
The only sensible conclusion is this: humans and chimps share a fairly recent (in geologic terms) common ancestor.
Edit: just realised you're not actually dismissing evolution, lol.
a preteen asked me , “did jesus have a dog”?
i thought the question was hysterical.
why wouldn’t jesus have a dog or pet cat or sheep?
we live in strange times, in the middle of a culture war where saying certain opinions have consequences.
<--- so much for free speech.. thank goodness for satire.. https://babylonbee.com/news/nike-factory-graciously-offers-to-house-unaccompanied-migrant-children.

hope link works.
The d2d work was abandoned long before the pandemic.
Perhaps because the WTS is a registered charity and knocking on people's doors endangers WT charity status?
Follow the money ...

i love r&b music, funk and soul, even some disco.
i’ve been listening to retro soul radio out of london lately and the music is without commercial interruptions 24 hours a day.
mostly 70s and 80s music.. i love everything from elvis presley to tom jones too.
Although I don't think Paul McCartney's musical output after the Beatles is very impressive, I do like this song …

It's just a good little pop song.

TBH, I like a wide range.
The Beatles, Prince, Chemical Brothers, Blur, Radiohead, U2, The Who …
i know what you’re gonna say---------everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.. but the question above is not about everyone’s right to believe whatever.. the question is very specific------will the world be a better place----without religion.
think for a while what the world would be like without any religion.. no conflicts between islam and christianity.. no conflicts between different sects of christianity.
(example; jehovah’s witnesses vs catholics).
It's difficult to say.
But I think the world would be better off without Islam, WTS, LDS and other cult-like religions. That's what Islam basically is: one giant cult.
