  How is the 'Cost of Living Crisis' affecting you?

  here in the uk we've recently had the price cap on household energy bills raised by around £800 and there'll be another similar raise this autumn.. food prices are up, petrol is around £1.82 per litre - that's $10.37 per gallon for our american friends - and inflation is currently running at 9%.

  business are being hit as ordinary folk prioritise their spending.

  young folks are effectively priced out of the housing market and wage rises are not keeping pace.. mrs nic' and i are fortunate in that we're both in secure employment and with the kids moved out and mortgage paid off our outgoings are thankfully low.

  The cost of living crisis isn't really affecting me.

  I was poor before it started and I'm still poor now.

  But it's what happens when a government pisses away public money like the proverbial sailor on shore leave.

  This tory government under Boris Johnson has turned away from the usual tory small-government, sensible attitude to public spending.

  It has spent billions on furlough plus lockdowns, test & trace, PPE, and everything else.

  I'm not a tory but I am fiscally conservative. I want sensible spending from a small government. And this current government has failed me.

  I voted tory last time round in 2019 because the tories were the only mainstream party who respected the brexit vote and promised to 'get brexit done'.

  But I won't be voting for them in 2024. They are a proper shit shower, lol ...

  A person cheating on his wife with sex workers is bad. You don't have to be religious to see this. Atheists can clearly see this.

  Lloyd's defenders are delusional in this instance.

  And, as has already been said, using prostitutes is illegal.

  Here's one thing I've noticed about Lloyd's confession video (later deleted):

  Lloydy boy has completely misjudged ExJWs and atheists.

  He maybe kinda thought, 'if you leave the WT cult you can do anything you want - cheat on your wife with prostitutes, anything!'

  Er, no, Lloyd, just because people leave the WTS they still have morals, concepts of decent vs unacceptable behaviour. Ditto atheists - they don't believe God exists but they still have morals, too.

  And cheating on your wife with prostitutes (some of whom may be forced into sex work or are under age) is totally incompatible with being an activist who criticises the Watchtower's child abuse policies.

  Lloyd's dramatic loss of patreons is evidence for the fact that he's completely misjudged how ex-JWs/atheists feel and think.

  It's hilarious watching him in a hole of his own making, digging down further and further.

  i’m still a good christian.

  i still believe the bible.. i don’t like the wt society, but some of the people, as individuals are good.

  there are many nasty jws also.. i have concerns about current events and how close the end actually is.

"a congregation of brothers precludes having a proud clergy class that honors itself with high-sounding titles and elevates itself above a laity" wt 6/1/2001 p. 12, pp 11. still same idea in 2021 wt october, p. 20, pp.

  7, but 2022 in the wt publication, frequently asked questions about jehovah’s witnesses, page 13, the wts inserts "paid" in front of "clergy perhaps to shore up their current statement in secular courts they have clergy, just not paid) "following the model of first-century christianity, jehovah’s witnesses have no clergy-laity division.

  all baptized witnesses are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work.

  As far as I can make out, Kim Silvio is just telling the truth and/or correcting certain things she believes to be false.

  She's not trying to defame Lloyd.

  watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc. dear brothers:.. we received your letter of december 17 in which you inquire about handling a situation involving a brother who has been guilty of serious violation of the law in the past.. you explained that you received information indicating that this brother ?committed several murders and crimes before his baptism.

  you ask if law obligates some action on our part.
