  The young woman's question - 'how do we fight an ideology with weapons?' is a good one.

  But, first things first, Jihadis fight with weapons, so must the West in response. Our great countries must bomb and shoot Jihadis to death. Wipe them out. Destroy them.

  Re the ideology, the West and moderate Muslims must fight against Jihadi ideology. When Jihadists say that infidels must be killed moderate Muslims must speak up about living within Western laws, and put Islamic verses into context.

  The majority of Muslims don't commit atrocities but that kinda misses the point. Islam is not a peaceful religion, all you have to do is consider the example of Muhammad. That dude wasn't peaceful, anything but.

  The right to not be exposed to ideas I don’t like or agree with?

  ok, i would like to submit to the forum the following question: in abstract, do you think that there is a right to not being exposed to ideas that you don’t like or disagree with?

  please think it through and its implications on both ends of the spectrum.. it’s not the right to conscientious objection to do something you vehemently disagree with; it’s not about the liberty to chose which ideas you want to embrace or advocate.

  it’s something different.. given that, as exjws, we understand the importance of being exposed to different opinions in order to form our own opinion, should someone claim the right not to be exposed to opinions or ideas that they don’t like?

  I think children have a right to not be exposed to inappropriate adult ideas or things.

  But adults? No way.

  BTW - how can we get people out of the JW cult without exposing them to ideas they initially don't like or agree with?

  Independence Day Was A Shame

  this year independence day , the 4th of july, went mostly unnoticed.

  the weather didn’t help for many but besides that, the day was looked upon by news media and politicians as very negative.

  there is nothing wonderful about america that should be celebrated!

  The Left diminishes family, history, patriotism, sexuality and so much more - I'm not sure about sexuality, but yes, the Left is trying to break up the traditional family and is also having a negative effect on free speech.

  Hopefully the Left will lose as more and more people see their sheer stupidity. I love the way parents are rising up against CRT in schools.

  Dawkins has commented that chromosomal gender remains fixed, which is true - it's also the most important part.

  Chromosomal make up is biological sex. And humans are a sexually-reproducing species.

  Dawkins also said he would still refer to a person as their preferred gender ‘identity’ out of courtesy - that's fine, but I wonder how Dawkins feels about the other 99 made-up, bullshit genders? Whatever, Dawkins is free to do that, and other people are free to say that they believe trans women aren't women, and to use whatever pronouns they wish.

  hello friends.

  i am an ex mormon who got a little bit obsessed with cults and how they work, after leaving the church.. recently i have been very interested in learning about the structure of jw because i find it very similar in some ways to how the mormon church is organized, except with different names for everything.. i have some questions:.

  Does the love bomb stop the moment you get baptized? - yes. At least they stopped love-bombing me after I got baptised.

  Do they force you to speak publiccly, even if you have difficulties doing it ? - not literally 'force' but they expect you to and 'encourage' (cajole) you to speak publicly.

  Do they force you to give public speeches about a theme, or force you to go give a prayer to everybody as soon as you are a newly convert, and extremely introvert with stage fright and anxiety? - similar to the above answer, they cajole you to give a group prayer as a newly-baptised member.

  is your average JW also a double standart type of person? I mean: Do they actually follow what they preach? Do they really believe in their hearts what they teach and learn? - I don't know the percentage of JWs who ignore the rules and the percentage of those who obey. What I will say is this: the JW leaders do a good job of scaring ordinary JWs. Most JWs who secretly have sex outside of marriage would be terrified that they will die at Armageddon.
  

  Re the lack of love-bombing you experienced in the Kingdom Hall, this was because you were a curious outsider. If you were a person who was studying the Bible with JWs (a 'bible study') you would have been love-bombed. The JWs are stingy with their love-bombing, lol.

  The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - how much crack was JJ Abrams smoking when he made this? lol (spoilers)

  i saw the rise of skywalker (2019) a few weeks ago.. and it is totally crazy, lol, it has everything but the kitchen sink.. i can somewhat feel for writer/director jj abrams because rian johnson went f**k up in the previous film.. e.g.

  in the force awakens (2015), abrams introduced snoke, but then in the last jedi (2017) johnson killed him off, the same thing happened to luke.. but that doesn't really hide hollywood hack abrams from criticism of this movie.

  bringing back emperor palpatine - i mean, really?.

  Dawkins’ opinions about transsexuals (expressed on Twitter 🤦‍♂️), and Evans’ views thereof, are irrelevant tangents from Dawkins expertise as a biologist - utter nonsense.

  Dawkins, is indeed, an expert on biology. And biology is intimately connected to gender.

  The vast majority of women are cisgender, i.e. the vast majority of human biological females are women.

  Dawkins knows whereof he speaks. Trans activists have a dubious relationship with scientific reality.

  @truth_be_known - the original trilogy wasn't perfect, or perfectly planned (Lucas made up a few things on the fly, such as Vader being Luke's father and Leia being Luke's sister) but the original 3 films had a road map, one creative person overseeing everything.

  The sequel trilogy has no road map. None at all. Kathleen Kennedy brought in different directors after firing a few, and told Rian Johnson to take the story where he wanted. Then Jar Jar Abrams was brought back and shat out this turd of a movie.

  You're right, the sequel trilogy is a complete train wreck.
