Apostates are more all knowing than GOD?
by Maat13 inif "apostates" can predict what jw.org will do (i.e., doctrinal changes, business practices, etc), but jw.org gb is led by god's holy spirit, then yes.
apostates are more all knowing than god.
random thought of the day...i'm sure it's not original.. maat.

Apostates and atheists were always all knowing than the god of the Bible. They discovered that the Bible is not inspired, but believers are still blind.

MY CONCLUSION IS: 'GOD' DOESN'T EXIST
by NAVYTOWN ini have come to the conclusion that there is no god.
period!!!
if there was a loving, righteous, all-knowing, all powerful god up there somewhere, where is he and what good is he???

There is no visible god who protects us. If one says that a god protects him, then, this god is biased, because he does not protect innocent palestinian boys who died on account of Israel misils. For practice purposes, there is no god with us.

Was the Biblical Canon Directed by God?
by Chris Tann inthis is a question a sincere christian may agonize over after learning that some books of the bible were rejected by certain early christian groups, while other books that did not make the canon were accepted.
also, when one realizes that so called inspired writers of the greek scriptures quote from apocrypha, that most christians reject today, one wonders if these writings that include these quotes should even be in the bible.. it is true that when it comes to the christian greek scriptures the canon has been closed for many centuries.
also, these books have been accepted by christians ever since the second, perhaps first, century.

I am no longer a christian, but I think that in terms of "authority", 1 Clement is much more authoritative than 2 Peter, because it was attested earlier than the latter.

Mental Disorders among JW's
by Blackfalcon98 inhi everyone, im begining to notice patterns of mental issues in the congregations and among the witnesses as a group.
do you think this is a trend in the entire world or is it exagerated in this organization?.

I remember a good example. I knew a witness of one of my first congregations who was in need of a woman. He was a ministerial servant, but no sister wanted to be his girlfriend. So, one day he told me privily, that he would get a worldly woman as a girlfriend if he had the opportunity. He admitted that he was unhappy. So, I said to him, " that's ok for you, if you need it, I would not say it to the elders, don't worry"......So I noticed that this man became crazy due to his abstinence. ....It is clear that the Society's policy against having a worldly girlfriend is insane.

If you take seriously the talks against higher education, against having "worldly" friends or girlfiriends, and if you take seriously the view that Armagedon is inminent, you will be a paranoic fanatic and lunatic man. For instance, Robert King is a lunatic product of the Watchtower theology.

Reading the Watchtower and Awake! is like getting a college education!
by kairos inanybody remember hearing this?.

is that comment in print anywhere?.

I heard that. A circuit overseer told us that in a talk. Of course, I have to admit that the Society quoted many books that I could not get 20 years ago. But currently I have checked that the Society misquoted many of them. So, the Society uses many scholarly sources, but it propagates many lies by distorting the content of them.

I am just finishing an article in Spanish on the issue of how the Society relies in the NT canon. I have shown how the Society depends on early "apostates" to "confirm" the authenticity of the NT books. For instance, The Society quotes the "Athanasius canon of the IV century". But, was not him the champion of the Nicaea's word "homoousius", which equals the Son with the Father?........Also, interestingly, the Society quotes Saint Jerome to "show" that the Gospel of Matthew was written in Hebrew, and this is its argument to defend the inclusion of the Tetragramaton in the NT of the NWT. But, contradictorily, the Society accused negatively the church father Papias for using a non canonical book, The Gospel of the Hebrews. This shows that the Watchtower writer ignored that the Gospel of the Hebrews was that "version" of Matthew, which was considered "the original one", by many, as reported by Jerome. Furthermore, many of the quotations from that version, shows that it differs from the Greek version of Mathew which now many scholars now that it was not written by Matthew. So, if the Society holds that the original of Matthew was that which Jerome knew, the Society would have to admit that Jehovah preserved a forgery instead of the "original one".
For instance, The Gospel of the Hebrews uses the Hebrew version of Hosea 11:1 as the Gospel of Matthew does, but I strongly doubt that the Gospel of the Hebrews could use Isaiah 7:14 (in Hebrew) so as to show that Emanuel would born of a virgin.

Did Josephus believe in Jesus as The Christ?
by opusdei1972 inhere is the questioned josephus' text :.
now, there was about this time jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful worksa teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure.
he drew over to him both many of the jews, and many of the gentiles.

I found that the other version is the 10th-century Arabic version in which the questioned phrase appears as "he was believed to be Christ". So, if we have two different versions, we know that someone was a dishonest scribe like were many in first four centuries.
