wow, it's true - they don't call to 'promote god's kingdom' anymore but just their website!.

we just had an old lady call and tell us that was exactly what they were doing and it has "lots of good things on their for children".

Im hoping the GB over reach with the whole JW.org stuff. this could definitly help some to start to wake up.

During a KM part last month our COBE ended with. "Advertise advertise advertise JW.org". I was kinda shocked by this.

using kindle/ tablet/ iPad in meetings how to police?

i've noticed about half my half are using these.

of course there's always the potential for people to be looking at things non jw on them.

are the society going to find a way to police this?

at my hall I am certain. It's just a modem/router. I don't know enough to know if there is technology you could plug into to trace all the websites. I don't think you can request that from your ISP either.

I don't think there is anyway to police it. I will tell u what though! I love using the halls wifi to go on apostate websites during the meetings. It's somewhat exhilarating.

i don't see any problem in thinking that you can gain a decent moral compass from the Borg. I guess that is only in my case and is probably more of a result of a great mother. Regardless, Me and most of my friends ascribe to be good husbands and fathers. I try not to drink to much. I'm not gonna cheat on my wife. I work hard. I don't steal.

i don't doubt that you can gain these traits outside of the Borg. I also don't doubt that you can be raised jdub and be a horrible person. Regardless I have to think that some of what I am is a result of my history as a witness.

u obviously are an active witness as am I. I no longer believe so I come on here and post and it doesnt bother me. Why doesn't it bother u to go against the Borgs counsel. Im honestly no trying to poke at you. Just curious about your reasoning.

Yes there is def some good. Nothing is all evil all the time. I find that he friends for my young kids at the hall are great play mates. Also the group of friends that I have there I will never replace once I decide to leave for good. Some may disagree with this but I have great friends there. I know they will choose the Borg over me but they are brain washed. That doesn't mean they aren't good friends in the mean time. It also does give a decent moral compass. I think that I am a pretty decent person now and part of that is as a result of the Borg. I am also good with people which helps me run my business.

But in the end.......

It's still A cult!

Will the JW.Org Site make a difference ?

it will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.

this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.

probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.

Our hall has someone. prob soon to become publisher. he requested study thru website. Young,educated,good looking. Exactly the type of person you would think would have nothing to do with the Borg.

this story goes back 2 years, when my girlfriend and i traveled to my homecountry in south america to spend the summer visiting my family and friends.

although i was still attending the meetings back then, i had already been inactive for a while.

the developments since that visit have been slow but dramatic, and my perception of the people inside the organization has changed greatly.
