The Washington Post Newspaper, Tuesday 29 November 2016 - and the front page headline features two picture-lead stories - firstly "Dutifully mourning Castro - The loyal, and the obliged, honor patriarch of Cuba’s ‘Revolution’" - and the second feature headline is "11 hurt in Ohio State attack; campus police kill assailant."

The story about the Australian Royal Commission does NOT appear to feature ANYWHERE in today's 58-page print edition.

BUT - and we'll know how big a 'but' that is this weekend..... The Washington Post has a weekly 'Religion' feature each Saturday - so maybe they're holding back in order to compile a more in-depth article / exposé for this coming Saturday, 3 December 2016?.....

The commission found the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ general practice was to not report child sex abuse allegations, a serious failure to provide for the safety and protection of children.
The commission said the organisation relied on outdated policies and practices that were, by and large, wholly inappropriate and unsuitable in child sex abuse cases.

Somewhat buried and squashed down right at the bottom and on the right-hand side of page seven is the rather small headline:

Also remember that Scientology goes out to attract 'celebrities.'

Then when said celebrities get disillusioned with Scientology and speak out, they are more likely to attract media attention by the very reason of who they are.

Scientology even has what they call 'Celebrity Centres.'

I can hear the art direction now " yeah, totally pimp up the colours and make it look busier with extra car and foot traffic but sshh let's pretend the big-ass church isn't there." lol.

Actually I wonder how old the photograph is that WT has used considering the photo from Taichung, Taiwan they are currently using on the front page of the JW website, shown below, is using an old out-of-date tract / leaflet - I think they were replaced in 2013?

Google street view lets you go back and view older versions - the picture in Valparaíso, Chile that WT is using looks much more like the the Street View image from January 2012:

Admitedly the tarpaulin on the left looks a different color? But at least something is there. Likewise with the partial cover of the balcony in the middle. But the key item would seem to be the road sign on the right hand side, which doesn't appear in the latest Street View.

It may not be photo-shopped. But I was thinking how exposed it would be to live in a dwelling whose front door was so publically accessible.

I think ab.ortega was referencing photoshopping the coloring - making the image 'pop' with some vibrancy in the color department, rather than actual photo manipulation.

Though, as you stated, WT have decided to crop the image a certain way, which I don't think is a probem - they also need a horizontal landscape crop for the purpose of fitting onto the JW website.

I purposefully though did include the larger image to show that the doorway was literally in the shadow of the local church - thought it would be interesting to show
