Bill Cosby - too much smoke for no fire?
by Simon init seems like the list of people who are accusing him of rape and sexual assault is growing every day.
i'm skeptical of single accusations but the number of people and the similar stories seem overwhelming now.. it's not a conviction but to the court of public opinion ... guilty?.

What I find interesting is the reaction from Bill Cosby's sponsors. T V land pulled re-runs of his show. They did not wait until he was charged or went to trial.
The same thing happened to another actor. The syndicate pulled reruns of his show and he was cut from some of his current jobs.
The same thing happened at my work. This city employee was arrested for molesting a minor at his home
He was immediately suspended without pay and then quietly dismissed so when the article appeared in the paper he was identified as an employee.
The business world does not want to be in any way associated with someone accused of sexual assault.
Do you think the WT will start following that business model?

Sipping our drinks at the track..part 2.". I didnt tell them anything," she said
by MissFit in...as we were enjoying our weekly sunday "no meetings margaritas.. my friend and i have been meeting for lunch and margaritas ( okay mostly margaritas, we throw lunch in so we dont feel like alcoholics lol ??).
instead of going to meetings.. ( we discovered we could have lunch*margaritas* without the meeting first.).
my jw lady friend still goes out "in service" and stays in touch with her "service buddies" who also know me.. so she was telling me that they asked about me and mentioned that they would like to stop by to see me.

Thanks. I am realizing the "friends" I had in the congergation could be classified as business associates, now there really isn't much we have in common.

She is one of the few JW friends I have whose relationship doesnt evolve all around the Jw religion. We have other things in common.
it is a joy to spend time with her.

Margarita time with my pal!
I was getting worried about my friend. We hadnt been able to get together for several weeks.
She finally was feeling well enough to go out & have "lunch" 😉*cough margaritas*😉
together. We had a great time . I think she talked JW once the whole morning we were together ( we ran errands first ).
We plan on getting together next Sunday.

Oh the skating parties!!. My congergation was in a small town that didnt have a skating rink. We would travel to the next town about 45 minutes away through winding narrow roads ( before they made it a 4 lane highway.)
We would make arrangements with the kids down there and get a group of us together from both congergations.
Remember the disco ball and girl's choice?
I really think the society really messed up when they started discouraging get togethers . Those social bonds can be strong if you can nourish them.
Our congergation would have get togethers just because.
Now they have to manufacture an excuse.
edit to add: There doesnt seem to be the same closeness anymore. People are more distant with eachother.
You are only expected to be social before & after the meeting and out in service.

I went to so some graduation parties that had music and dancing. That was in the late 70s early 80s before they sucked the fun out of everything.
There was a group of JWs that had a band and would play at all of the get togethers.
Good times. 😆

Steve: I saw some of katiekitten's videos and loved them. She really made me laugh. She has so much fun but is never shrill or hateful.

Well it helps that my sister's husband is related to half of the congergation, including several generations of elders. Lol.

What about graduation parties? I've seen some elaborate graduation parties.
JWs have a lot to compensate for. They love a good party as much as the next person.
I would have a blast at those parties.
My sister throws the best parties.
For her daughter's graduation party, she had a neon glow in the dark party.
For her in-laws 50 th anniversary she threw a '50's themed party and wore a poodle skirt and saddle shoes. Everyone dressed in the '50's style, then we watched a slide show featuring the happy couple .
